Just another year paying Uncle Sam

Really nothing bad I can say about TurboTox, perhaps the only way to accomplish a thorough review would be to have a CPA also do my taxes and compare the results with what TurboTax did. But not about to spend the money on a CPA once Turbo finishes and the results seem to be about what I expected.
What's great about it: Turbo is a very helpful program in walking the novice through the painful process.
What's not so great: It does seem to miss some items such as sales tax, it did not ask me about that item.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Super Easy!

This is so easy and they explain everything as they do it on the federal form. Then they take your federal info and apply it to your state form but they don't show you what your state form looks like till the end.That was a little unnerving for me.
What surprised me was that they prepare the state form but won't file it unless you pay $25 extra. Why?

What's not so great: E-filing state form is not free!

Bank Routing number

The bank routing and account number on the state form is not automatically populated from the previous year's form. Also Turbo Tax does not ask the information until after you print a preview copy, which caused me to print another copy with the bank information.
What's not so great: Had to repopulate on State form

In my view, a summary of all items needed to complete the return should be included at the beginning. Looking for items all at once should make life simpler.
But it's a great program!
What's great about it: Nice, neat, simple
What's not so great: Wasn't sure what I would need until I encountered it.

This was one of the easiest returns I have done. SO very simple, the way the questions were structured really helped me feel at ease that we did not forget anything - great job !!!

Easy to navigate

I've been using Turbo Tax for over 10 years and it has been a great tool. Even if you don't know what to look for, it asks all the right questions to fill out our return quickly and efficiently. If you do know what you are doing, it has plenty of short-cuts. Highly recommend it for everyone who likes to stay in control of his/her taxes and finances.
What's great about it: Don't have to know too much. Access financial institutions electronically for the 1099-DIV and INT forms
