What's great about it: very easy to follow, past year inofrmation easily downloaded and available for review. this is very helpful

Helped with Short Term Disability

Helped sort of the handling of short term disability, apparently called Third Party Sick Pay and figured out I overpaid Social Security.

Another year with Turbo Tax

Taxes are done, I know they will be accurate - now. After inputing info, software told me that sales tax deduction information was not available, but would be after 12/31/2013! I printed the return for review. At that time, updates download popped up and proceeded. The following day, I revisited the deductions section and found all info necessary on the sales tax. Return was revised and saved us money.
Next year, I'll beg for updates before I begin.

Some problems this year

Make sure that you update your software before efiling return. In other years, there has been a prompt. Not this year. After I hit the transmitting button, the program said I had to download updates before transmitting.
Also, after transmitting again, the program came back and found blank boxes that had been filled out previously in the state return.
Also, the return came back yet another time because the program wanted my 2012 pins. It never asked for them previously; the program said pick a pin.
I am not as happy as in past years.

TurboTax Deluxe

I have used TurboTax in the past. In 2011 and 2012 I used an accountant, because of our corporation. This year, the accountant finalized the corporate returns, but I prepared our own 1040. I was happy to see how easy it still was since the last time I used the program in 2010. It came up with deductions I had not considered.
What's great about it: Easy to Follow Step by Step
What's not so great: It was sometimes difficult to locate specific screens to update, make corrections.

Easy Way To File Taxes

If you want to file your taxes without the nagging doubt that you missed something, and that the return is complete and accurate, then Turbo Tax is what your looking for.
What's great about it: Step by step directions with help that is defiinitive and clear.
What's not so great: None

Peaceful Mind

I have used TurboTax for more than 20 years. The package has been improved quite a bit. I have witnessed its improvement and easy of use. However, I would like it has the power to search for turbotax files from previous years to keep records in an orderly fashion.
What's great about it: Automation, Checking and Correction, Updating
What's not so great: Records Keeping, Updating from Previous Years
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
