2013 Fed and NY Returns

I've been a faithful TurboTax user since the mid 1990's and your program is reliable and user friendly. Very easy to use and understand, thanks a bunch.
What's great about it: Quick and easy

Overall, I would buy TurboTax again as I have done for the past 10 or 15 years. As indicated above, I really miss the page which shows the national averages for deductions--medical, charitable, etc.--as well as taxes paid for a person in a particular income bracket
What's great about it: I like the step-by-step questions contained in TurboTax.
What's not so great: Unlike prior years the program did not show national averages for deductions in an individual's income range.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

No sweat tax prep

This year our taxes have been much simpler so it has not taken as much time as usual. I don't know what problems I might encounter if I have something complicated, ex. in filling out an investment information for Schedule D. I had problems with that on Turbo Tax a few years past. For that reason, I can not give it a 5. I have been using Turbo Tax for a number of years and it has been satisfactory. Have not experienced other programs. Glad we have Turbo Tax to ease our way through. It has made life much easier at tax time. Much appreciated. Thanks!
What's great about it: easy to use. Just fill in the boxes of the 1099's, etc. Takes away needing to think too much.
What's not so great: The easy questioning is too tedious. Use Forms.

Saved me Dollars and Cents

I recommend purchasing the Deluxe version to anyone
What's great about it: Gained knowledge of individual components of tax return that I do not get from other (Hint: green) tax professional
What's not so great: To go back and review one component caused me to reclick every confirmation rather than furthest confirmed point

Turbo Tax makes it so easy to do your taxes with step by step instructions that anyone can do their own tax returns. It's the only way I'll do my taxes anymore.

Good but State e-file should be included free

Tax program is easy. I don't like that I have to pay to e-file a State return. At least one should be free! Also, there is an incorrect statement that says you must e-file Federal & State at the same time. This is totally wrong. I e-filed my daughters and filed a paper copy directly with the State & she got her refunds with no problems.
What's great about it: Taxes are easy with Turbo tax
What's not so great: Totally WRONG about having to e-file Federal & State together. You can e-file Federal & paper file to State.

6th year filing with TurboTax

My Deluxe version locked up when I tried to get last years info over to this year's form even though it said it found my info. After 4 tries I gave up and skipped that. The updates which have always been the first thing to come up were at the very end this time. That change makes less than no sense. Why did you change the way my 1099 retirement accounts were handled to treat them as IRA's---totally confusing. Spent four times as much time on my taxes as in the last several years. If I try you next year, it will be the free version so as not to be paying for your changes to irritate me.
What's great about it: Walks you through it (when it works)
What's not so great: Does not always work and help doesn't help
