Easy Super Easy

Super easy way of doing my taxes. I really appreciate TurboTax, for its easy and quick way of doing my taxes. Plus the wayfast and free e-file makes it even more desirable. Thank you Intuit TurboTax

Helps Make An Unpleasant Chore Tolerable

I've used TurboTax for years; this is the best edition so far.
What's great about it: Walk-through guidance, nearby hints, "most people check this box ..." suggestions
What's not so great: A bit opaque in a few spots
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

1)Found an error: 1099-R Summary, Tax Withholding Section, line 38 should read Box 12. 2)After completing deductions and the system determines that the standard deduction is more favorable, Schedule A is not available but the information is required to be used for the CA return - it would be good to have a substitute schedule A for review purposes. 3)At the end of the process, calculations may have to be done to determine how much of a refund someone may want to carryforward - it should be easier to change your mind.
What's great about it: Good job walking one through questions
What's not so great: Difficulty to find out how to change mind on overpayment carryforward

Frankly after all these years I would have expected to use a perfect TurboTax. You need to do more. For example I used bank debiting to pay my federal tax, so why didn't Turbo pick up the routing and account number automatically when I paid my state tax. Second why don't you separately add income from pensions from income that is used for RMD?

I have been using turbo tax for so many years I wouldn't want to use another brand. I feel confident my returns are prepared correctly.

It may be that my number of data entries have declined over the years and that leads to be highly influenced by the simplicity of the format presently. Overall, GOOD JOB.
What's great about it: Generally, well-done in interviewing, collection, compounding
