What's great about it: Great transfer from past year and Financial Institutions
What's not so great: Number pages for printing and make automatic save

The Turbo Tax Federal and State was reasonably easy to use, but having used it in the past several years made it go quicker. The federal is really very good at letting you go back in and work on individual parts as you find better or get updated information. This allows you to get into the return before all information is finalized.
For the state, Turbo Tax gets the job done, but it is not as flexible in going back in to work on sections. To use step by step, you really have to start from the beginning. However you can go in the Forms mode and work on individual schedules or worksheets. All in all I am sold on using Turbo Tax.

What's great about it: Accurate and thorough
What's not so great: IN state wasn't as flexible in preparation as I expected

I have used Turbo-Tax for several years now, but every year I am more & more impressed. It just gets easier & easier to prepare our taxes. If you can read, you can do your taxes.........you folks make it SO simple, yet SO accurate & detailed. If you ever go away, I might have to stop paying taxes, because I can't think of going anywhere else!!
What's great about it: walks you through EVERY detail of tax preparation... like "Taxes for Dummies"
What's not so great: there simply are NO cons!!

I have used TurboTax for many years, and sworn by it. This year I could only swear AT it. It is full of bugs - 3 that plagued me - and I wonder how many more there are that don't trip you up, but just make your tax return incorrect. It told me I needed to fill out some crazy forms that clearly weren't applicable to me - most notably, form 8891 for Canadian pension beneficiaries (I am not Canadian). Trying to get rid of the form was murder, and when I finally managed to delete it, TurboTax kept telling me I needed to complete an additional field on this non-existent form - and wouldn't let m e-file until I corrected the non-existent error on the non-existent form! Next year I'll try out differenttax prep software.
What's great about it: used to be easy
What's not so great: full of bugs this year

Having moved to Alabama several years ago, and different tax laws, I used a CPA . Having used Turbo tax several years ago, I have returned to a well known and respected tax preparation product "Turbotax", and not only reduced my expense in preparing tax forms, but also have relearned to process and filed them myself.

Almost too easy!

I found the software easy to install and use. Every step was clearly explained and I was happy with the results. The only improvement I would recommend is a "go directly to finish" when the income information entered shows that standard deductions will provide a "0" tax liability. It would have saved me a little time entering deductions.
What's great about it: Step by step clear and concise walk through of the process.
