Better than doing it by hand
on March 23, 2014

Background: Live in one state, work in another, have some rental income in a third [don't ask]. Have been using TurboTax Deluxe for years.
This year's TurboTax is a lot like the previous ones. Interview has gotten pretty good, although I certainly didn't notice it ask about the K1 I'd received from an estate and had to search for that when I'd finished everything else; at that point it wanted to walk through all the other income stuff all over again.
Also it didn't catch that with all this 2013 stuff, I'd typed in that I was going to pay the amount due a year ago when it was figuring penalties (oddly it copied that into the state form and *that* review caught the error, but then I had to hunt all over the forms to fix the original error and get the right underpayment penalty). In the past, I felt the review process was stronger.
In general it's pretty good at dragging stuff forward from last years forms and between the forms. But every once and a while it doesn't. Again, quality control seems to have slipped a little this year.
At least the movies aren't there anymore (or it figured out I never wanted to watch them in the past). Now there's just some picture of a model/actor to accompany each "now let's make sure we maximize your refund" section heading, Here's hoping they lose that.
Oddly, they can't seem to install updates from a non-admin account. To begin with, unlike previous years they don't start by immediately looking for updates, but wait until your ready to review your federal return. At this point, if you're on a non-admin account they get stuck. I don't know why they can't escalate with a UIC screen to higher privileges to do the update. The workaround is to leave the program, open the program folder's 32bit directory in Windows Explorer, right-click on TurboTax.exe and select Run As Administrator. Don't panic that it doesn't know about your return (it's a different userid), just use the menu's Online->Check for Updates to update the program. Then close it and reopen it the usual way.
The constant attempts to upsell you are really annoying (although at least this year I didn;t notice a nag for Quicken).
It starts on the first screen which points to the TurboTax community where you can get help, or you can upgrade for Additional Help.
Later it wants to sell me the Premier edition because I've got some mineral rights where I get couple hundreds of bucks in West Virginia. I don't even bother buying the state version since a state+efile would cost more than the tax I owe there.
And then it tells be I have a very low chance of being audited, but don't I want to spend a lot more to get someone to show up in case I am.
What's great about it: Carries stuff forward, generally knows what to prompt for
What's not so great: Wants to sell you new stuff all the time, didn't catch some mistakes

Finally trusting Turbo Tax completely

After 5 years of using TurboTax, I finally trust it completely. The past 15 years of doing my own taxes were done by paper and mailed in. I used TurboTax as a back-up to confirm my work. TurboTax is soooo much easier. It has very helpful explanations in every area, is accurate, and I love the e-file access. I used to take a full day to check and double check and this year I was finished in less than 3 hours with running after kids and chasing down paperwork. This is the first time I haven't felt exhausted after filing! :)
What's great about it: So easy to fill out all the information. Walks through each entry.
What's not so great: I hate paying for Federally mandated actions - This is not TurboTax's fault.
Pros: I had a baby

Needs more polish

Final results somewhat consistent with last year's return. Made an erroneous entry for home office which caused it to flag an problem. There was no intuitive way to remove this entry, and I had to waste time erasing the old data file and creating a new one from scratch.
What's great about it: Usable
What's not so great: Difficult to undo erroneous entries

Another time-saving tax filing
on March 23, 2014

I've used TurboTax for years and love it. Prior to that, I did my taxes by hand, so TurboTax has been a great time-saver. Over the past years I've purchased a house, had stock transactions, and life changes; Through these changes, the guided steps and help screens provided in the software helped me understand the various tax issues and feel confident that I was filing everything correctly and within the law.
What's great about it: quick and easy to use, import info from previous years
What's not so great: a bit slow to install and start up
