Great way to do your taxes!

TurboTax is a great way to do your taxes. The easy and informed process is exactly what I needed and it helps you every step of the way. I would recommended this to anyone who wants to save some time and money.

In the cash contributions section, I went through all my receipts, then had to go back through them again for the addresses. You should ask for the address when you ask for the contribution. It wasted a lot of time to go back through the receipts.

Not too painful

Overall not bad - we do not have any unusual tax situations, just a married couple both of whom are salaried employees, and we itemize deductions. The whole process takes 3-4 hours as long as we are prepared with our paperwork. Could be worse. We have used Turbo Tax for years so I can't compare it with other products. I can say that I would much rather use Turbo Tax or another software tax preparation product than do it the old-fashioned way, on paper.
What's great about it: Import of last year's info saved a lot of time
What's not so great: Could have done without the plugs for upgraded product

in looking at deductions and credits, you do not see the totals for some of the categories.
What's great about it: lead me through the return process
What's not so great: some of the screens are not consistent, in other words, did not show the totals when looking at deductions and credits.

When asked what part of my health expense credit was attributed to my wife I had to do some research to figure out what it meant and how to do it. Should have had a link "explain"

Simple & Effective! Well worth the money.

Generally easy to use and quite effective. I've been a true believer since about 5 years ago, when I first used TurboTax and it prompted me about the Child Tax credit. I ammended my taxes for past 3 years, and received several thousands of dollars in credit!!
What's great about it: Contains info. on IRS tax laws
What's not so great: Did not open my 2012 tax return

I wished that I could have gotten more help when I was fixing errors.
Also, the download didn't charge me until I had finished my taxes therefore I missed putting how much I paid for tax preparation software on my taxes.
What's great about it: TurboTax helped me complete and file my return in just a few hours
What's not so great: There was a form that I didn't understand and I just adjusted numbers and clicked boxes until it said I was okay.
