Keeps getting better. Been using for years. Pls. simplify when you ask for checks on Foreign Investment. I import everything from Fidelity and would think that covered everything. I don't know the details.

Outstanding

Great software that I recommend to every one. My taxes are far from simple, but the hardest thing about them is getting the information together. When this is done it is a piece of cake to enter them in the software, so why should I pay someone to enter the information for me. Would like a way to review my entries (make sure I entered the numbers correctly) without having to go through all the additional questions on the worksheets. (I have about 45+ total 1099's to enter) and to double check the amounts of each one after they are already entered and compiled by the program is a pain.
What's great about it: Fast, accurate, convient and easy!
What's not so great: Would like an intermediate way to file. Step-by-step is too simplified and form is harder.

Turbo Tax 2013

All in all, turbo tax is a rather pleasurable way to do an very UN-pleasurable task.
What's great about it: Answering questions was an easy way to do an otherwise grueling tax preparation
What's not so great: Would like to see explanations a bit more "dummied down" for the lay person/non-tax professional.

Quick to complete an accurate return

Software worked as expected. I have used this software for 15 years without any issues. This year a delay in filing was due to the government shutdown which delayed a few forms. Turbo-Tax recommended that I sign up for email notification of when the delayed forms were ready. I did so but never received the email.. I found out the forms were now available by the automatic update feature of the software. This was my only disappointment. E-File is the best.
What's great about it: Walks you through all aspects and advises in decision areas.
What's not so great: Signed up for forms completion notification but never received an email.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Fed Great State not so great

The state did not transfer data entered into the interest and dividend portions into the State of MS form. A real pain to have to enter the same data again. I think it did transfer in 2012.
What's great about it: Federal worked fine
What's not so great: State did not
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I have used Turbo Tax for many years and will continue to do so. It makes filing easy and takes all the stress out of filing. I love that it does all your calculations for you.
What's great about it: Makes filing taxes easy and less stressful.
