decent app

It would be nice to see how each number affects the total so I could plan better. I barely notice when the number at the top changes. Maybe a box of the amount changed and the ability to play with numbers to see the differences it makes.
I don't like having to scroll down on almost every screen just to continue. I don't like having to mouse over to check "none of the above" repeatedly instead of just continue. I also don't like the 15 or so "are you sure?" screens at the end of the return. It seems like they add another 10 minutes of repetitive checks. One error check screen ought to do it.

What's great about it: Uses prior year info well
What's not so great: Too many "are you sure?" screens.

Fast & Easy

I signed up for e-filing and paid the money with my credit card and ended up not being able to file with e-file. How do I get a credit to my credit card?
I do love the interview format! It makes the whole process Fast a& Easy!

What's great about it: Love to be able to transfer data from past year!
What's not so great: Make e-file easy to refund if you can't use it.

The program is so easy to use that I have been using it for the last 10 years. Anyone can use this program to do their tax returns. When you make a mistake it tells you and helps you correct it.
What's great about it: So easy to use
What's not so great: Have nothing negative to say

Turbo Tax 2013 not as good as previous years

I'm not liking the new interface. I will probably not buy turbo tax next year, although I have used it for the past 10 years. The new interface seemed to miss obvious questions and didn't allow me to input all data. Especially for schedule C. It was very confusing to enter contract labor and depreciated items. The particular items were not asked for in Q&A. I entered them manually, however when returning to easy form, it seemed to delete my entries. I started to loose faith in the integrity of the program. Since I do not want to get audited, this is a big problem. Therefore I am reluctant to use turbo tax again next year.
What's great about it: Still able to complete return
What's not so great: More confusing to follow and track changes by turbo tax. Q&A did not cover all options and had to go to forms.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Honestly, working on IRS tax returns is my least favorite thing to do. Instructions & easily clicked-on help menus were extremely informative. Our return was not the easiest to work through, as it was quite complex, but I managed to get through the entire thing and filed it, without much trouble. It seemed easier to complete as compared to last year.
What's great about it: Short descriptions of various sections within the larger sections were easy to access & understand.
What's not so great: Sorry, I can't think of anything I didn't like

What's not so great: should be able to float over explain more and have a pop-up pop up that disappears when I move the mouse away
