Support not so good

The software can only do so much. So, I'm not necessarily blaming Intuit/TurboTax but, you can't just blindly enter your numbers and expect the software to do everything. For example, I had finished preparing my taxes & my refund was almost half of my income. (??) I had just transposed 2 numbers which as far as the program is concerned is right. I presume the program is only looking for a number in the 2 fields in question so as far as it was concerned, everything was correct.
Also, what you get in terms of support when you buy the software is confusing. So are there forums. The search engine is not specific enough. For any simple question, it returns hundreds if not thousands of unrelated topics.
(PS. I would've given the program three and a HALF stars out of five but the rating system doesn't allow for that)

What's great about it: The software itself is easy to use
What's not so great: Be careful

Great software

Overall a great product. Easy to use and simple.

What's not so great: legacy data often muddles new returns

What's great about it: I like that I can download state programs also!
What's not so great: can be hard to ck savings from IRA contributions to decide amt to deposit

MY 2013 Tax Filing

I have used Turbo Tax for several years and plan to continue in the future. I have not seen any problems with the process and all of my specific needs are covered. I also use the program to complete a few of my childrens tax filings so the five free FED filings are worthwhile for me.
What's great about it: I continue to use Turbo tax for filing

It's definitely a great software application and I've done my taxes with Turbo Tax for about 5 yrs now. I highly recommend it to anyone.

State Missing

Last year the Deluxe included one state filing. This year it didn't. Very disappointed

Lost Everything I Entered

I got an "ERROR 107" while trying to save my final return and could not exit program. After a minute or two program closed and all of my work was lost. Had to completely redo return. I saved after every couple of steps this time. Lesson learned, DO NOT TRUST PROGRAM TO KEEP DATA.

What's not so great: Auto-save periodically during entry

I feel confident that I will be able to accurately complete our tax returns with Turbo Tax. I like how it brings information forward from prior year and then guides you though all of the sections to properly enter the correct information.
What's great about it: Error check catches mistakes
