Easy to Use

I have been using turbotax for years, and would not consider another tax software. TurboTax is easy to navigate and checks
What's great about it: Easy to use to complete both my Federal and State returns
What's not so great: None to speak of

Easy to use, although a "Back" button would be nice in some of the steps. It is much, much faster than paper and pencil. Although it claims to have checked for maximum deductions, it missed the depletion allowance on one asset.
What's great about it: Easy to use, mostly intuitive.
What's not so great: Not quite as thorough as advertised

Needs Improvements

When an update is done Turbo tax signs off even though it says it will stay available. I have to sign back on and wait.
Most frustrating of all is every single page requires the user to page down and click on continue or back. There is much empty screen available on most initial screens. When checking back on something already entered, it is exasperating to have to page down/click when I could just keep clicking next page looking for errors.

Turbo Tax is a life saver. Makes an uncomfortable task doable.

I've used TurboTax for at least ten years and I've never had a problem. It's clear and easy to understand. Although it occasionally asks the same question more than one (such as if I'm ready to file my state return after already congratulating me because my state has no income tax), I'd rather it be redundant than skip something important.
What's great about it: Quick and easy.
What's not so great: Redundant at times.

As usual TT was an incredibly easy tax package to load and fill out. Works with Windows 8.1 - 64 bit, puts an icon on your desktop. They overdo it a little with the 'double checking', but at least it does not take long. I've used other programs but always end up coming back to TT.

I love turbo tax and have used if for years! I got all 4 of my adult children to also use it. I don't like that I have to search where to put my foreign taxes paid on my state return (under taxes paid to other states) and it's also a little hard to find allowable employee expenses that have been transferred over from my federal return. I especially didn't like that it wouldn't let me e-file my federal return and apply a portion of my refund to next year's taxes and refund the rest to me. I could have done that if I mailed it myself. Now I have to mail in an estimate to the fed.
What's great about it: It does all the calculations & puts them where they belong on the forms.
What's not so great: Hides certain things & won't let you do things you can do on a mailed return.
