Seemed less easy than previous years

1. The imported figures from It's Deductible for non-cash contributions were different from those shown and entered in the It's Deductible program.
2. I could not put my finger on why but overall it seemed TurboTax was slightly less easy to use. The place to fill in for Investment Expenses shown on my broker's 1099 did not show up during the interview process like I know it did last year. I had to search around to find a place that was OK but the real place showed $0.
3. Many times I would like to print a screen that is showing like I did many years ago, but for the last several years I can't figure out how. This year I used the PC's screen shot feature. Silly and inconvenient.
Whatever, I got them done.
What's great about it: Much better than by hand
What's not so great: Some subjects hard to find for me. It's deductible import erred

Relativly easy to file

The cons were from using sharebuilder and seeing errors that appeared to be very small but I could not figure out what I needed to do to correct. They involved GLD and SLV and were under $1,00 or dates . Finally gave up and ignored. Left non cash contributions off return as a hedge .
What's great about it: step by step seemed to cover everything
What's not so great: error check had 5 items that were confusing

extra state

there should be a discount for a second state if you and your spouse work in 2 different state. It is a real hassle to do the 2 state. The price is out priced.
What's great about it: easy to use
What's not so great: I don't know why it cost so much for a second state tax when you have already paid for the turbo tax with state.

What's great about it: Keeping things straight between Family's growing complexities
What's not so great: Wanted upgrade to feel good about stock sales' basis

1. My 1099-B form box titles didn't match what was in TurboTax
2. Instructions for same gender married couples living in a state that does not recognize the marriage should be increased. I filled out returns for married filing jointly and for filing single and found that filing single gave us a bigger return. That would have been good to know up front.
What's great about it: Overall ease of use
What's not so great: 1099-B form mismatch and same-gender marriage complications

Turbo Terrific

This step-by-step approach - holding my hand and explaining whatever I don't understand - assures me that the information I am submitting is accurate. I don't mind saving the money it used to cost me to have a CPA prepare our taxes!
What's great about it: Carries over from year to year, eliminates cost of CPA and easy to follow directions.
What's not so great: Can't think of any!

I have used Turbo Tax for filing my returns for years. I am always very pleased with the results. Keep up the good work!
