Easy does it!

Used the system for many years and never had any problems or difficulty getting all the information I needed.
What's great about it: Very user friendly, easy to follow the steps
What's not so great: If you need to return prior pages, it keeps asking the same questions

Turbo tax if fabulous, user friendly. It double checks and asks just the right questions.
What's great about it: Very user friendly and thorough
What's not so great: Wish the state tax efiling was free

Got the job done

I appreciate the program to get my tax returns done. It helps when helping family members as well.
I appreciate the effort that goes into the program, especially with all the tax changes that occur on what seems to be a daily basis. I work in the financial securities field and I know what a chore it is to get things reported correctly.

I thought it could have been a little more descriptive. There was a section that said split with spouse. Split how? In half? Also said you had to wait until government had forms ready. It couldn't upgrade with read only disk. I am not a computer wizard, so it took me a while to figure out what this meant. Didn't realize I needed to remove the disk and then it would upgrade. For those of us who aren't computer smart, it would be nice for a little extra help with the instructions.

Needs improvement

generally good but does require a certain amount of tax knowledge. It did not automatically generate the PA foreign tax credit and it took me 45 minutes to find the forms to enter the data. Then it was not clear they were being filled out correctly. For AMT there is some possible credit that it did not automatically compute (I used Turbo Tax last year) and the forms are very complicated. I had to call a tax accountant to find out if I was going to get a credit.
My goal is to put the data into TT and not have to figure these out myself.
