Not very happy!

It took me over four hours to complete my taxes, it usually takes less than an hour - my return is very basic, in the end I had to "cheat" to do so.
My wife and I file separately and we live in Nevada a community property state.
At the end of the process it asked me to complete Form 8958 - Allocation of Tax Amounts Between Certain Individuals In Community Property States, which I completed.
The result was that the system increased my income by the amount I entered for my spouse. the only way I could find to rectify the problem was to remove my spouses income from the form and add it manually to Form 8958 after I had printed it.

easy to use

I love this program and have used it for many years, I love that it brings in last year's info. That saves so much time, I love the community answers, they are very helpful.
I would like to see some observations delivered if the program sees that filing in a different way may be more beneficial.

I tried to print for hours

Gets Better Every Year!

I have been using TurboTax from its beginning and I love it more each year. It takes the worry out of financial issues for those of us who are not money savvy.
This year, I called for help while trying to complete the K-1 worksheets. A very calm and competent technician helped me and clued me into some problems with my computer that were impacting my accessing the website. She was great!
I've talked to friends who typically have a service complete what seem to be very simple returns, spending hundreds of dollars. TurboTax is a much more practical tool, costs so much less and, with Audit Defense, supports you later in the event of an audit. What more could you ask for?
What's great about it: It's Deductible; Step by Step; Amazon Gift Card option for refund
What's not so great: I miss the talking experts from early editions. They explained things so well!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Fast Tax Returns

Complex return made simpler by TurboTax. Always makes the returns easier to get through. I usually file in multiple states due to my consulting work over the past several years and using this program enables a much less painful process.
What's great about it: Nice prompts, very good guidance and navigation progressing through the information areas.
What's not so great: None.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Thorough and accurate

Amazingly on top of all the changes made to individual taxation by the current Administration. And, great improvements over the years particularly with State tax return preperation.
What's great about it: Very thorough.
What's not so great: Too large. Not enough competition to keep pricing more reasonable.
