2013 tax review

Turbo Tax helps me to do my taxes with less stress. The ease of doing both Federal and State is awesome. I have been using Turbo Tax for years and it just seems to get better every year. I am grateful that all the new tax laws are addressed for me. I use the supporting Intuit Quicken program that makes everything click into place.
What's great about it: ease of doing return..no worries
What's not so great: can't think of a thing re: cons

Stuck on Turbo Tax

Don't feel as though you need to finish the process in a day, although (except for maybe one instance) I have been able to finish my taxes in one day.
What's great about it: Very complete
What's not so great: There is a lot of thinking and referencing involved

It was easy to use with the step be step questions I needed to complete my return. I used it last year and was very happy with the results and will continue to purchase the program to do my tax returns.

Overall satisfaction while using TurboTax

Due to the growing number of retirees, I believe that the one weakness that TurboTax has is in the descriptions for the various types of 'retirement plan' distributions. There is really nothing that helps you to identify a Profit Sharing Plan as a IRA, qualified or unqualified, defined, undefined retirement plan, for example. There are a lot of different plans out there and a customer should not have to call a employer.ex-employer for information if TurboTax could pull together a little more information to allow the customer to identify the type and source of a given distribution. This was the most difficult part of the process of doing my taxes, at least for me. Other than this, it is a great product!
What's great about it: Easy to used and very intuitive
What's not so great: More descriptive language for 1099Rs
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

It was easy to fill out and file. I couldn't ask for anything else. It was smooooooth. Even my wife liked it.
What's great about it: easy to follw thru without any problems. Even better then last year
What's not so great: Question about death benefits recieved for a mothers death. Still am not sure of where it goes.
