Each year, I encounter a general lack of information on reporting K-1 forms when held in IRA. This year I needed the information as my fiduciary trust Co. was required to file IRS form 990T. Turbo Tax contained incomplete and some incorrect guidance. I would appreciate more complete information on this matter. Information on your site was of no help and misleading. The fiduciary trust Co. is required to file a tax form if Block 1 on K-1 is > $1000. After calls to my IRA fiduciary trust Co. I knew what to do. Namely, send all K-1's to them and they would file the form. If I had not sought answers outside of your references, no 990T would have been filed! The result might have been to place my IRA in danger of disqualification. Far out of any desirable ending.
What's great about it: easy to use. I liked the need of password use

Turbo Tax is an excellent tool for filing federal and state tax. I have used it for years and never had any problems. Less costly than using a tax agency. I have recommended it to many friends and it turned out that many already use Turbo Tax.
I'll be back next year!
What's great about it: Have used Turbo Tax for many years with great success
What's not so great: some new forms were a bit challenging

For calculating total income, please add Form SSA-1099 as an income selection. Today one has to put the string into the search area to figure out how to enter it. For simplicity, it should be listed after W-2.
Similarly, there should be a more direct way to entire supplemental insurance premiums. Today, that’s a hunting task too.
What's great about it: Most of the process is direct
What's not so great: Hunting to discover how to enter the Form SSA-1099, and supplemental insurance premiums

Along with guiding the uninformed low-information taxpayer through the filing process, you supply on-the-spot information about why you need x-y-z info, and online access to IRS or other sources for info as well. All of this is an educational process as well, so as I go into future years I'll be able to think ahead as to stockpiling appropriate supporting documents, etc. that will be needed to complete those returns.
What's great about it: Guides me every step of the way
What's not so great: Asking for line item amounts from last years return when I've already transferred all info from that prior year's return

As a result of the two TurboTax 2013 programs on my hard drive, when I went to finish e-filing my returns the Promo self-launched and would not allow me to shut it down, nor would it move forward. If it weren't for your tech support and two hours of joint effort I would never have gotten my problem straightened out and I would have switched to another tax software provider after 10 years, without a glitch. Can someone PLEASE make that promo software suicide after the real software is downloaded?
What's great about it: loaded information quickly and efficiently
What's not so great: I don't recall getting instructions to remove the 2013 promotional software that came on the disk I received in the mail
