Frustrated: Had to file by mail.

Spent hours trying to figure how to e-file. I've done it easily 3 years in the past. I need some assurance that this problem will be solved before next year or I don't want to invest in another Turbo Tax product.
What's great about it: It was a breeze until the filing
What's not so great: Hated that I couldn't e-file

K-1 entry is very cumbersome and not completely clear. It took much trial and error on my part to get this right.
What's not so great: Confusing entry for K-1

Easy Breezy

I'm a bit apprehensive about submitting my return too early because of the updates which seem to come each time I launch the program. I can't help wondering if an update, that is offered after my submittal, will impact my return and have dire repercussions.
Other than that I like TurboTax.
What's great about it: Good organization
What's not so great: Late breaking Updates.

Easy to work with. I would like to see the cents per mile more transparent for medical & charitable deductions. To find out what it is I need to google it. This should not be.
Thank you
What's great about it: immediate updating due & refunds
What's not so great: does not show cents per mile for charities & medical

problems this year

Turbo Tax has always worked seamlessly for me. This year, however, I got to spend a lot of extra time because the disc wouldn't download to my Mac (always has in the past). Then we had trouble downloading investments. Then, when it was time to file, we had to reload it again. Otherwise, the program worked well.
What's great about it: keeps all my records year to year, saves time
What's not so great: trouble with start-up and filing with Mac

Maryland 2013

The income input page needs a small fix. There is a box to check for military retirement pay. But the language talks about "active duty" retirement pay. At least in Maryland, the subtraction to income also applies to reserve and National Guard retirement pay. It took over an hour for the help desk folks to figure out how to make this work. Suggest modifying the language on the income input screen.
What's great about it: Works Well
What's not so great: Military retirement pay problem

Did my compliance

It would help if all worksheets state whether they are from IRS or from TurboTax. MD 2 income subtraction should specify how to "allocate" capital gains and state income tax refund (I assumed just report each spouse's cap gains from their broker/mut fund statement, and that state inc. tax refund could be split 50/50 since it goes into a joint checking account). MD return picks up state income tax withheld from a domestic employee from the worksheet for Schedule H I think, but MD unlike the federal, does not have an equivalent of Sch H. Sch H imposes tax on me as employer, so estimated taxes paid give me credit toward that tax on 1040. But MD does not impose tax on me as the employer so I should not see a credit on my MD Form 502, but initially, I DID! I had to go back to the worksheet and zero out all the lines under the State Tax column so that the estimated taxes that I paid (representing my EMPLOYEE's MD state income tax withheld) would not be reflected as estimated tax paid on MY (the EMPLOYER's) return.
What's great about it: It remembers data from prior year's return
What's not so great: Worksheet source not stated; explain MD 2 inc subtr & estim tax
