Another year - got it done

I have used Turbo Tax for many years, and it keeps getting easier to use and quicker. I don't have to be concerned about making an error.
What's great about it: easy to use
What's not so great: Medical HSA somewhat confusing.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

You have a programming problem in the print and review phase!
What's great about it: Fairly straightforward.
What's not so great: Would not print my copies to mail to IRS!

snailmailing and e-filing

After E-filing the federal return, there is no indication on how to snail-mail the NJ state return.
To do this, the user must choose snail-mailing the federal AFTER completing the federal e-filing process.. The user must guess that this is the way to proceed; it took this user many many minutes and loops to go this way.

I have been using Turbo Tax for many years. I have never had a problem using it. There is help if I need it. I encourage my friends to use Turbo Tax.
It is a wonderful product.
What's great about it: No problems completing my 2013 taxes
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Beware!!!

Used this software for years. Beware, when asked, as I was if I wanted to save the file when exiting.
I had been putting in some "what if" numbers to see the difference in results and when finished that exercise continued to exit Turbo Tax. I was asked if I wanted to save the file. Since I had put in some "what if" numbers, I said NO!
Do not do this! The next morning when reviewing for final e-filing, the file was GONE!!!!!!!! from Turbo Tax.
It appears that if you say no to saving the file it is like "Deleting" the file. I had to go to backup storage to retrieve and old saved file and re-input a days worth of data. I believe the message should read - Do you want to save the latest data input since this file was last saved.
Just remember. Keep going to "File" and saving the file as you continue to enter data.

This is a fine product but could be improved by better help files and FAQ files.
What's great about it: Thorough, good help files
What's not so great: Still required Google search for help on some questions

Turbo Tax

I have been using Turbo Tax for years, and find it easy to use for personal and business. It would be terrific to have easier quick access keys to that I could would start working on items out of order. Sometimes I just want to work on one deduction and not all of them. This year's version is cleaner than prior years, so it was a lot easier to complete the forms. Love the Its Deductible and Audit Defense.
What's great about it: easy to use and help sidebars are clear
What's not so great: takes time to wind through everything

Wish I'd done this years ago!

Very intuetive. I did not need to know anything about how this worked before starting. I would recomend to my friends and family.
What's great about it: Very intuitive and I appreciated the conversational tone! I will NEVER pay someone else to do my taxes again.
What's not so great: Took a while but I itemize and have lots of charitable deductions. Wish it came with 2 free states!
