Left a lot to be desired

I have been using TurboTax for 15 years and I am disappointed in overall quality of Program this year. Some very important elements were left out and instructions were vague or inaccurate.
What's great about it: Easy and fairly accurate
What's not so great: Incomplete information on deceased taxpayers filing. Lacked clear instructions on re-filing rejected electronic return.

Great . . . with one caveat

If it would just pull in all trade details without mystifying me, that would be great. But I suspect that's just part of confusing IRS rules for Form 6781.
What's great about it: Brings in brokerage data automatically
What's not so great: Confusing handling of 1256 contracts (futures, options)
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Data Entry
on March 19, 2014

When I attempted to enter medical data it appeared that I could just enter the total in the box provided. I was not allowed to do so and I had to call support. We jointly solved the issue. Due to the fact that I listed my doctors in the previous year, I had to double click on the total box to get the supplemental box to itemize my doctors by name again. This was easy to do but there was no instruction saying to double click the total box if you had listed your doctors in the previous year. The IRS does not require that they be listed individually but only a total amount to be submitted. Should be more explanatory on steps to follow in Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Fairly Simple
What's not so great: Not explanatory enough

Zipped Through My Return
on March 19, 2014

I found this program very easy and informative.
The step by step process was great.
I was disappointed that my last year's return, which was saved by the program as a PDF file could not be imported for use by this year's return process.
Why save it as a PDF if you cannot export it to the next year's preparation.
What's great about it: Very easy to use. Great help.
What's not so great: Last year's return was saved by the program, but couldn't be recovered

Choosing options e.g. "Check yes or no", etc
on March 19, 2014

After checking options like "yes or no", "check which applies to you", etc. when reviewing my inputs some of the checked options are blank and need to be checked again., Why is this? It seems the program doesn't retain this information.

How do you know when you are done?

Look up tables for material contributions are great.
Leading one through the process and catching possible entry errors is great.
Submitting both at one time is great.
Determining if both forms were successfully submitted, not so great.
What's great about it: Leads throught the process. Can complete both state and Fed at one time.
What's not so great: How to tell when you have successfully submitted a return.
