Just finished my eleventh annual tax return using TurboTax Deluxe. Each year I've said; "This couldn't be easier." yet each year it just keeps getting easier! I especially appreciate the ease with which I can switch between the "step-by-step" method and the "Forms" method. Also, keeping multiple forms open at once allows me to keep track of where I am in the process in an orderly fashion. TurboTax Deluxe has brought order to an otherwise disorderly life! Thanks!
What's great about it: Smooth! From installing the program thru filing the return- no hitches, no glitches!
What's not so great: Would like the ability to do historical reports based on all prior year TurboTax filings

Returns more than competitors but...

I have put these guys up against the others (online and computer programs) and, with the same numbers, return more money!
My only problem the last two years is their lack of support of the 1098-MA form. Both years, support for it was non-existent from TurboTax directly. In 2013, I called the IRS agent who wrote the rules and talked to her! This year, I used the question base.
That amount of time (four days) cost them a star in the rating.
What's great about it: Really has this business down pat, the others are poseurs
What's not so great: They don't have *every* explanation needed

Cheaper than a tax agent!

Turbotax was hundreds of dollars less than a tax agent after my working over seas. The very same questions and information was collected. Love this software!!!
What's great about it: Love the knowledge of doing everything myself!

TurboTax 2013 Woz

I file each year with TurboTax and it has made my filing much easier. I have a relatively simple return but I find the TurboTax checklist very useful in completing the return and giving me the best quality return and (this year) a good refund.
What's great about it: Intuitive and concise
What's not so great: Death and Taxes

The whole program seems jerky and unpredictable this year. I do several returns for relatives each year. The state program especially will finish without asking the questions about donations to funds and other things. It does not run the same way twice.
In other years I would have rated it at least 4 1/2.

Review of Turbotax for 2013

I felt this year was easier than ever to do my taxes, both Federal and State. The questions were easier to understand and the system is very versatile in letting you either go question by question or fill in the forms themselves.
What's great about it: Simple and easy to use; not difficult at all but very thorough in handling my taxes
What's not so great: None
