Have been using turbo-Tax for several years. Very satisfied.
What's great about it: Easy instructions, good help
What's not so great: No way to add foreign pensions other than Misc. Income
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I have been using TurboTax for many years and never have I had a problem. Comparing this years return to last years return helps along with comparing to others in my same category. I see that I am average for my income and my age. Thanks again Turbo Tax inter circle. I was a member for many years.
What's great about it: ez method leaves no doubts
What's not so great: sometime questions need more explanation

Easy and Accurate

I have done taxes with just using IRS instructions and other software. For Partnerships and LLC's I have talked to several CPA's and used one for filing taxes for our family Partnership. I also attempted to use a competitor's business tax program since it was less expensive but gave up on it. I have the most confidence that the taxes were figured correctly using Turbo Tax than with any other method.
What's great about it: Understandable questions

Turbo Tax Entry Flaws
on March 18, 2014

I have been using Turbo Tax (TT) for as long as I can remember and I think it is a great product. It just isn't quite perfect yet. I live in a state with legal gambling and when I get to the portion of the input where Winnings from Gambling must be input Turbo Tax suddenly goes brain-dead and fails to auto-fill forms from Winning to Winning. One must repetitively enter the SAME input for the Casino (Name, address, phone, ad infinitum) for each form W2-G. There is no excuse for this!!! I do my mother's taxes every year and she has dozens of W2-G forms from many same Casino's and EVERY PAGE MUST BE REPETITIVELY RE-INPUT!!! It makes me want to scream. One other thing is the way TT states the Owe/Return numbers. On the Federal Taxes; Federal Review page I find: Federal Taxes you owe = $2600.00. Federal Taxes You've Paid , Plus Credits = -$2800.00. Then, year-over-year comparison I find in RED, $268.00. This last figure is correct but WHY PRESENT IT AS: TAXES ARE $2600.00, I HAVE PAID $2800.00 AND STILL OWE $268.00. THIS TOO, IS BRAIN-DEAD. I know the figures are correct but PLEASE DO NOT PRESENT IT THIS WAY. $2600 OWED, $2800 PAID, AND $268 STILL OWED!!!! Just change the way the data is presented so that it is not STUPIDLY PRESENTED.
What's great about it: Mostly intuitive and easy to use
What's not so great: Some repetitive fields must be re-entered over and over

Two of my 1099-Misc worksheets I redid 4 or 5 times each and Turbotax would NEVER transfer accurate or complete data to Schedule E. In one case, absolutely bogus numbers kept appearing (and I have no idea where they came from).
As a result, I simply gave up the possibility of e-filing and did an override to enter the correct numbers.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Not Bad

For the Cons comment, I can't cite the specifics of where I was when the mild irritations occurred, but it was at least twice. It was typically four to six screens that I had to go through again.
What's great about it: Easy to follow with not much format change from last year.
What's not so great: When I saved and came back later, I usually had to go through pages of stuff already done.

REJECTED RETURNS ARE DIFFICULT TO CORRECT SINCE THE ERROR OR ERRORS ARE NOT IDENTIFIED AND TURBO TAX INSTRUCTIONS ARE NOT VERY SPECIFIC. IF THS TRY FAILS IT LOOKS LIKE THE ONLY WAY TO FILE WILL BE BY MAIL
