state tax extra

I used to be able to file PA a on line from thier own web site but now they force you to purchase a product
What's great about it: i did it
What's not so great: state tax was extra and they said itwas encluded
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved, I bought or sold investments

Accurate calculations!

Turbotax makes entering numbers, answering questions, providing examples and explanations effortless. It enters the data on the right forms and at right places. It makes the annual tax torture a simple game.
What's great about it: Easy questions, clear explanations
What's not so great: Missing pictures, charts, drawings.

Idiot proof

Retired in 2013. Had regular income, distributions from retirement accounts, a rollover from a pension to an IRA, in other words, a lot going on that had tax implications. Turbo Tax handled all issues in a straightforward manner.
What's great about it: Easy to use, walks you through ech section.
What's not so great: Does not auto populate names for mutiple 1099's from the same institution

Your program wont let me print!!! I will keep trying. I have used Turbo Tax for years and never had problems until now.

Easy File with TurboTax

This was so easy that, initially, I was worried that I did it wrong. As a relatively new user of TT, I was pleasantly surprised by the ease of importing information from last year's return. Could not be more simple! We have a relatively simple return. But, after years of doing it myself or paying someone else, this has been a welcome change. Great product!
What's great about it: Import of all personal information from last year
What's not so great: That everything else isn't this simple and reliable

Glad Its Over

Cant compare it to another product since I've only used this one. Works well...hard to go back to specific sections once you are done....AMT calculation really saves time compared to doing it yourself. Auto download of W2 or other financial info from financial institutions doesn't work well. Finished product prints out very nice.
What's great about it: When done all forms are complete and when printed you have a profssional looking return
What's not so great: Hard to go back to specific areas
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Easy to use and very informative on tax laws and trends. Problem seen in software does not ID military pension info in wages for 1099-R.
What's great about it: Ease of use

No luck e filing

I tried to e file but got an error message. Instructed to try again later. When returning to file only options were to
pay with credit card or buy Turbo Tax plus, even after I
went to the trouble to fill out all my direct deposit information.
After multiple tries I gave up and decided to mail my returns.

What's great about it: Walked me through tax prep o.k.
What's not so great: Nothing but trouble trying to e file. Quit and will mail forms.
