Get it done

TurboTax not only saves you money but get you to understand
what's needed. I think it lowers the stress level will be using it next year.

What's great about it: Very understandable ,easy to followand in simple english
What's not so great: requires certian knowledge of certian terminology, pic help

TurboTax is a lifesaver

Fabulous product. Makes life simpler. Saves your butt many times over. Easy to go back and forth, check IRS forms, review backup data and details, make sure you did not leave something out. Every IRS and state form is available. Quick cross reference to IRS guides if needed. I have used TT since 1996 and it gets better and easier every year. I could not live without it.
What's great about it: All forms available. Complicated situations explained and calculated. Quick cross-referencing. Open detailed backups.
What's not so great: Does not offer to recalculate Fed after calc Cal. state Income tax if lower than Sales tax deduction.

What's great about it: guided filing, e-filing
What's not so great: should bundle one state filing in price

Taxes made simpler

I have used this program for years and it works for us. The only thing that doesn't work too well is the importing of info from Quicken - it never seems to be complete -- and the importing of last year's return was good as far as the personal info was concerned, but way off on the return itself.
What's great about it: Easy to follow and fast to comoplete
What's not so great: Import of Quicken and prev. yr. return no so good

Once I got the hang of the program, it worked wonders! Early on in the process, I made some errors on some dividends and was confused on where to go and edit the information. Once I found the review tab at the top I was able to figure it out. I really like the easy-to-follow interface.
Easy to ask questions online, but I didn't always find the answer I was looking for.
What's great about it: Easy to follow
What's not so great: Sometimes it was difficult to find where to navigate back

Definitely Prefer Turbo Tax

I used Turbo Tax until about 9 years ago when I became a paid tax preparer. Turbo Tax was, by far, easier than the software we used at work and seemed just as accurate and less likely to miss deductions and credits. 3 years ago, I retired and went back to Turbo Tax. I have tried other available programs, but they just aren't as good, in my opinion.
What's great about it: Easy to Understand; Go Through at Your Own Speed and/or Understanding
What's not so great: Cost of efiling the state returns.

It is easy to use. Even for a non tax person like me. I have used it for 4 or 5 years now. Like that there is tech support if I have any questions. I have recommended it to others and they have tried it also.
