Frustrated

I prepared my 2012 returns using Turbo Tax. The 2013 software asked if I had filed using turbo tax in 2012 but it couldn't find the return since I had used another computer. I retrieved last year's file and copied it to my current pc but I couldn't get turbo tax to look again for the 2012 file. I reached out to the help community and couldn't get this question answered so I had to manually reference the 2012 data.

Have used Turbo Tax for years. Occasionally get confused with instructions. For example, I filled out everything but one missing piece of information. I had no trouble in adding it to Federal, but it was not clear that I would have to edit the state portion again. when I tried to say it was complete without clicking the edit, I was in an infinite do loop.
What's great about it: Mostly easy to use
What's not so great: personal property tax portion difficult to understand

not too hot this year:(

when i went to try and live chat with someone.. the system was off line.. after my taxes were rejected and needed some corrections to be made, the system was prompting me to pay again for state taxes... not cool!! I paid once... then they demanded to pay again in order to resubmit.. i went ahead and printed and mailed them in... not too thrilled at all:(
What's great about it: its quick and efficient
What's not so great: it wanted to bill me twice for state... not too happy about that...

Failed updates

tried to update as recommended. Updates failed on numerous attempts. Had to access help info to determine procedures to fix. Had to direct connect router to PC to successfully complete updates

Great Until The Very End!

Entering information for filing both my Federal and State returns was easy. But trying to post the payment to e-file my State return turned into a nightmare. Since I only use this program once a year, for the life of me, I couldn't remember the answer to the "Security Question." The Help Button was ponderously unhelpful, telling me how to reset my user ID and my password, but nothing could get me past that Security Question, which was the problem in the first place! However, I called the telephone support, and the young man solved the problem quickly, efficiently, and politely. While I appreciate all the security layers, this was very discomfiting for me. But I did appreciate the fantastic customer service shown.
What's great about it: User Friendly. Easy Questions with clear concise explanations.
What's not so great: Payment Problems

Problems with E-File

In the Review section, changes needed were hard to locate, specifically part/full year residency and missing information on one section of 1099-INTs. Help sections were hard and slow to use, specifically to find an already answered question that covered the same issue. Also, lack of response to a specific question. Finally, attempt to E-file was rejected because of update problems. In using the help section, this seemed to be a common problem. There were several solutions suggested, with some rated as less helpful. It took some time to select one that seemed most likely to work, and it did, but with some effort.
What's great about it: Over the past five years, TurboTax has been great and easy to use.
What's not so great: This was the first year I've had problems using Turbotax.
