I did it - You can do it!

Turbo Tax remains a straightforward and efficient way to do your taxes. Can't imagine why an ordinary person with an ordinary financial life would go to an outside tax preparer.
What's great about it: Simple and step by step provess. Hard to see how you could miss a key step
What's not so great: The feature showing tax owed all the time as you progress through the program is scary!

Always accurate

I have used Turbo tax for many years and have always found it extremely easy to use and accurate. One year we had to pay in quite a bit and had a professional take a second look and Turbo Tax was right on. Unfortunately for us that year. But it just reinforced my confidence in Turbo Tax. I would not switch to anything else.
What's great about it: Extremely easy to use
What's not so great: None

I have used turbo tax for over 5 years and wouldn't use anything else. I usually mail my taxes but decided to e-file this year. I didn't realize there was a fee till I got to the very end. You should state that at the very start instead of the surprise at the end.
What's great about it: Easy and simple to use.
What's not so great: E-file chg.

The HSA was confusing and considering the first time fopr me to have one and I assume a lot of people, I thought it should hev been clearer. This had a big impact on my taxes. I finally figure it out but it tooka while.
What's great about it: still a good way to file
What's not so great: a little more confusing this year as compared to years past.

Bit Slow to Transmit
on March 16, 2014
Posted by: JLMAL
Been using Turbo Tax for a few years, rather disappointed with the difficulty transmitting the final return. It took a while and some frustrations to get it to transmit my returns.
What's great about it: Made for quick work when completing my Federal and State taxes
What's not so great: Took several tries to transmit, had to log out, restart my computer

Easy & Fast
on March 16, 2014

I love using TurboTax. It's easy and accurate. I can't imagine paying a tax preparer to do something so easy.
The RITA Tax form (Regional Income Tax Authority), however, is very confusing because it does not give you the option to tell that I didn't live in an area that requires the RITA tax filing. It assumes I need to file the RITA tax return when I don't really need too. Thank goodness it gives the option to mail in instead of electronic file.
What's great about it: its very detailed and asks things I don't think of
What's not so great: none
