NICE AND EASY

I HAVE BEN USING TURBO TAX FOR YEARS, IT IS EASY TO USE AND UNDERSTAND. iT MAY HELP TO HAVE A SEARCH BOX ( IF YOU ALREADY DO I DID NOT SEE IT).
What's great about it: WALKED ME THROUGH EVERYTHING
What's not so great: SOME QUESTIONS CAME UP

Made it simple

Overall an excellent tool but I did find an issue. I had to go back and amend 2012 return based on seeing the side by side comparison of one category and discovered I forgot to report one 1099.. On the "File by mail' instructions after I completed the 1040X it show a balance due but on the second page it said "You have a refund of xxxx" in the same amount. Clearly an error in the software. I used the 2012 version of Turbo Tax if you want to go back and check it.
What's great about it: Loved the carry over of prior year data
What's not so great: Difficult to get to the pages I wanted to see like where the side by side of prior years is done

pain in the neck

I have never had trouble with turbo tax like i did this year. It would take me to forms and ask questions that i didn't need or that didn't apply to my previous answer. Very disappointed with the software this year. I have been using it for about 16 years.
What's great about it: using the computer with all the calculations in the program
What's not so great: too many glitches this year
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Frustrated by Turbo Tax for the Very First Time

For the past 10 years, I have used Turbo Tax with great success. It has made tax season very easy to navigate. This year, however, the program itself was very, very glitchy. I ended up using technical support on three occasions today, all for problems related to the program itself. There was difficulty downloading a second state, difficulty with finding my customer account and finally, difficulty in filing electronically. Overall, a very frustrating experience this year. Hope next year runs more smoothly, or I will be looking to different resources.
What's great about it: General Ease of Use
What's not so great: Numerous Technical Glitches this year

Made the tax process easy

This is my 10th year with Turbo Tax. It updates from prior year returns and then guides me through all of my tax situations. The free federal file and state return, plus importing of Its Deductible make Turbo Tax my trusted source for tax preparation.
What's great about it: Handled all of my tax issues, including an inherited IRA

Not much bad to say- the complicated tax laws make this a harrowing experience for sure but TurboTax helps you through it.

Overall a great user experience, with a couple minor things that might require improvement. After doing the e-file, the Turbotax application seemed to hiccup and not come back cleanly to the same spot where I was in the application, but everything got delivered to the tax authorities correctly. In printing and saving PDF, the software could be a little more clear on the usual user use case to allow the suer to save different subsets of information to PDF; it seems to default to saving every worksheet in finishing up the process, but I did find another way to just save the minimum that was sent to the tax authorities.
What's great about it: 99% of the user interface is intuitive
What's not so great: The 1% of the user interface that isn't intuitive
