I have used this for a number of years but when I get in trouble and need the confidence of a real human I will use a service. Other than that I enjoy this software and recommend it to others.

Turbo Tax Makes It Easy

I've been using Turbo Tax for over 10 years and always enjoy it's ease of use. How it compares which type of filing would be best (long or short form). And how it takes me through step by step to gain my maximum refund.
This year was little weak on the mortgage section. I had unusual circumstances where my original mortgage was sold, then I ended up refinancing with HARP 2.0. Mortgage section doesn't question if you finance with 0 points. Wasn't sure how to input. Help community wasn't that helpful in this instance.
Still very happy overall with Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Step by step questions to gain maximum refund
What's not so great: A little week on the mortgage section - especially regarding refinancing
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Have been using Turbo Tax for years and feel more security doing it at home. I have walked by some tax prepares at those in-store curtain cubicles. Some don't look trustworthy enough to have my personal information. There is where your next TV ad should be focused on. Show a couple standing in line at the tax preparer's curtain at a store. The couple is looking at the preparer (first appearance is a little questionable#, they can hear the confidential conversations and thinking to themselves about identity theft. They leave the line to go buy the TurboTax software. They are at home and in few minutes, within the security of their home they are all smile how easy TurboTax is to use #while the TV is on in the kitchen and there is a news report on identity theft) the couple hits the submit button and feel a sense of relief. There is your million dollar TV ad for free. I would be happy to be in the commercial. Thanks TurboTax for making Income Tax Reporting easy and secure.
What's great about it: Cost, do it in my time, easy steps, quick submit

I have used Turbo Tax for many times with many different situations. This year, what should have been routine and ordinary, turned into hours of work. I was unable to find answers to simple questions, regardless of how they were worded. Either no answers were given or I was instructed to "Just follow the prompts and answer the questions." Additionally the word "may" was used, as in "May be taxable...may not be taxable...may apply..." providing no answers. My financial planner could not locate answers on her Turbo Tax, either. A block that needed to be checked in the step by step review questions never did appear, regardless of what I did (according to answers to questions, such as "Restart...Clear cookies...") It seems as if the software which had been so well constructed in the past has definitely had a change in quality. Here's hoping that you have a better product next year.
What's great about it: Able to use, but not as well as in past
What's not so great: unanswered questions, vague answers and missing check boxes
