Saves time

I was able to use TurboTax to identify all the forms that I needed to collect to be able to file my taxes. I was able to get through most of it in one weekend. One star removed because it told me I still needed to send forms through the mail after I e-filed.
What's great about it: Walks you through each income and deduction section
What's not so great: Tells you you still need to mail forms in after you e-file

simple daughter's return

simple student return with one W-2 and one 1099 for income. a little too much fluff for simple return like this ut it ran fine and I like the processing.
What's great about it: slightly tedious for a return with few entries ,,, a more expedient start would allow a more efficient form preparation.

Quick and painles, as usual!

TurboTax made my return easy, as usual.
One difference I noticed this year is that TurboTax did not offer to import my W2s as it has in the past. I had the same employers this years (for me and my spouse), so TurboTax used last year's W2s and asked me to update the numbers manually for this year. I didn't like that because I made a mistake entering the data for my spouse's W2; I would have preferred to import the W2s directly from our employers to reduce the possibility of data entry errors. I also noticed that TurboTax did not offer to import data from Quicken at all this year (maybe I just missed it). That is disappointing because I have spent a lot of time configuring Quicken categories and tax line assignments to ensure an accurate import to TurboTax.
On the positive side, I did have eight 1099-R forms this year, and TurboTax imported those directly from my investment company. The interview process is thorough without being annoying and covers all possible income and deductions. Electronic Filing is smooth and flawless. Direct credit/debit of refunds/tax-due is a great feature.
I will definitely be using TurboTax again next year.
What's great about it: The "Step by Step Interview". 1099 import.
What's not so great: Quicken import disappeared? W2 import disappeared?

Easy and Reliable once again

The biggest pain about taxes is gathering the information, not preparing the taxes through TurboTax. I've been a TT customer for at least 15 years, and have never found a need to look elsewhere. The problem is getting some tax forms, which more and more are not sent to my address, but rather, stored electronically. Example, my dependent daughters 1098-T; that took 30 minutes to track down online; it would have been helpful if TT could have downloaded it.
What's great about it: Easy to use, step by step
What's not so great: Unable to receive some forms from providers electronically

I've used Turbotax for many years and would not consider using any other tax preparation software!
