Fantastic Experience

What's great about it: Extremely easy to use and saved a great amount of time.
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Turbo Tax gets easier and easier every year to navigate in my opinion. This year with the obvious tax changes including amount of the deduction that could be taken decrease and tax liability increase, the frustration of trying to complete a semi-complicated return was eased by their updated program. I have been using Turbo Tax for over 10 years, and again, I am completely satisfied with ther performance of your product. Quick, simple, and accurate.
What's great about it: I felt the program eliminated quite a few unneccessary questions and topics
What's not so great: Turbo Tax did not explain in enough detail that new element

Taxes Made Simple

I have used this tool over several years, and I like how Intuit has made a very easy to use tool to collect all information to ensure nothing is missed. I appreciate all the work that goes into updating the forms and make sure any changes to tax law are applied. The link to It's Deductible is great, as it's often difficult to know what the value of items given to charitable organizations are really worth. I like the peace of mind I get when Turbo Tax checks for errors to ensure I have a valid and correct filing, and that it greatly decreases the chance for an audit. eFiling is also easy and allows for many payment methods.
What's great about it: Step by step walk-through, Error-free math, It's Deductible, Error review to avoid audit
What's not so great: Help could be more in-depth, automated enrollment for next years product does not always give the best price

Bought program on CD and could not load. Called Tech support and they confirmed I had a defective disc so they had me download -- program worked great after download.
What's great about it: Easy once downloaded
What's not so great: Had bad CD had to have Tech support

Turbo Tax

I've used Turbo Tax for years and it has always been easy to use and I'm confident that my returns are thorough & complete and that I'm getting as much of a refund as possible. It is a cost effective way to do taxes yourself.
What's great about it: Ease of use, cost effective

Easy, could be easier

I don't have a very complicated tax situation, so filing mine should be pretty easy. And it is, with TurboTax, but every year I still end up struggling with some of the terminology. A little more clarity would be good, but otherwise, pretty quick & easy.
Also, I'd use the auto-import features if they had a few more options. For example, LendingClub has terribly complicated tax forms at the end of every year, so an automatic import from them would really help.
What's great about it: Simple walkthrough of every section
What's not so great: Still some jargon and terms

Estimated taxes not correct

I am not sure how the software calculates next year's quarterly estimated taxes but they are never correct. This year it wanted me to pay over 20 times what I need to pay. This is not a one-off event as it has occurred at least the past 10 years.
What's great about it: easy to use, my taxe situation is not complicated
What's not so great: consistently gets next year's estimated taxes wrong
