Please allow for 8 digits to the left of the decimal on Schedule D.

Ease to Please

Thank you TurboTax Personnel for keeping the instructions and guides that are easy to follow, even when your (I'm) under the weather:). Look forward to doing business next year as well.
What's great about it: Been very ill and suffering from Headaches easy to follow instructions.
What's not so great: To many changes from Fed Gov that lessen my return:(

Turbo Tax has always been the sensible way to handle this complicated event every year. I don't agree with paying for state filing but I can understand why Turbo Tax would charge for that.

What's great about it: SCROLLING MUCH EASIER FOR CHANGES FROM PRIOR YEARS
What's not so great: DIRECT DEBIT/DEPOSIT DATA NOT USER FRIENDLY
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Editing and Fees

Overall great. When you go back to edit items the check boxes for all questions do not pop up and you need to re-do a lotos stuff.
Error messages when you run fix errors not clear.
Do not understand when you buy Deluxe version with free federal filing you are charged an exorbitant fee to use your credit card.

Poor Job

My main computer is 5 year old laptop that I keep at house for games, email and taxes. Turbo tax kept crashing. And crashing. And crashing. Oh, and then not saving, and not saving.
Finally went to the office and re installed on a new computer to get the taxes done.
People doing their own taxes do not always have newest and greatest computers. This was a really bad experience. Have used turbo tax on the said computer for last 5 years.
Will NOT be using Turbo Tax again.
What's great about it: The system is pretty idiot proof...walks you through your taxes
What's not so great: Unstable on older computers

Easier to see forms than in prior years. Sometimes it still is necessary to review particular lines, even though the Q&A format is generally easier.
What's great about it: Comparison to prior year on screen
What's not so great: when e-filing, couldn't get "validation" and took computer restart - instructions were not clear on how to resolve

Smooth Refund

There are a few minor irritations, but for anyone with a simple straight forward return, its the easiest most convenient method of filing taxes.
What's great about it: Very easy and steps you through the entire process.
What's not so great: You have to enter your basic information too many times throughout the process (name, address, email, etc,)
