Poor Efile Never Worked

Easy to use, however e-fil continually would not "validate" and therefore not e filr stating an update was required. Update download would be accessed and all updates applied with no change in the result. I would not recommend this for those wishing to e file. Yes you can rint and mail so yes there's an option to file still. I just feel that after the fee for the software and the fee for state tax preparation there should be a stronger effort to ammend the problem by intuit. I can not see myself using this again next year with the wide range of products available that actually are just as easy and work the way they are intended.
What's great about it: Easy Preparation
What's not so great: E-File Never worked despite many updates and multiple attempts

Quick workaround for an error!

Had to call in on a federal error using the online deluxe from a mac - had already tried different browsers, deleting the section and manually reentering, etc. - Had an excellent experience with a very knowledgeable phone rep - he understood the problem and set me up for a local copy, walked me through downloading what I had completed online. It could have easily turned into a frustrating morning but your service support made my day!! Thanks TurboTax!!
What's great about it: Had an issue not being able to link a mortgage interest worksheet to form 1098 but called in and got by it!!

Turbo Tax is my best friend

I like turbo tax. I have used it every year for over 10 years and would recommend it.
However, last year I found a glitch that surprised me and is still not corrected. If you take money out of college savings for college but are too high wage earning, you wind up paying taxes on a portion of the money because turbo tax doesn't take into account that the $10,000 "credit" for college is disallowed. Yes, this is complicated but they should get it right and fix it. It makes me concerned that there are other hidden issues. Turbotax, take note.
What's great about it: easy walk through interview, transfers information from last year
What's not so great: there are a few glitches that are not addressed

Good Oberall Experience

Overall excellent experience for the federal return. The only thing that I could not find was a way to jump into the guided return at specific points. When I cam back to fill in some information, the guided tour did not display some of the questions.
The Ohio state return does not have the small business tax credit form, or any instructions about how to complete the form. Also, the unallowed accelerated depreciation was not well explained and unclear where to enter current year unallowed accelerated depreciation. It did not apear to be in the guided tour, so i had to find out where to enter in directly into the IT 1040 Form. Still not 100% sure that I got it right.
What's great about it: Step-by-Step information made the process more manageable. Importing from Quicken and prior year TurboTax is excellent!
What's not so great: Ohio State Return is minimal compared to Federal. Much improvement could be made here.

Getting error message 5640 when about to file the return was very distressing. Because it won't/can't upload the updates, you can't open the return to file it.
