2013 taxes done easy!

sometimes there are cliches in the return. I usually double check my return for errors a couple of times.
What's great about it: Never been disappointed and Turbo Tax is so easy!
What's not so great: occasional gliches with the program; Printed my copies to save and they were encrypted this time.

I love turbo tax, it saves me so much money in paying for an accountant. although they say people dont get half the money back they are due i think its because they dont take the time to read through everything.

I find comfort in Turbotax knowing that my return will be handled in a professional manner with down home price. This couldn't be easier. As long as you have your paperwork in order, doing your own tax return is easy. Plus, there is an abundant amount of online help. Five stars for Turbotax!!
What's great about it: Ease of Use
What's not so great: Continuous ads to upgrade
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I've been using TurboTax for several years and have always had a very positive experience. From the personal interview all the way through the actual filing follows a path that is very easy to follow and understand. I have strongly recommended this product to family and friends.

What's not so great: None

Inheritance = Tax Complication
on March 14, 2014

Several months after the fact, we finally learned of the income tax implications of having received inheritance money from two of my late mother's trusts--not inheritance taxes but ordinary income and interest/dividends accrued to us from the time of her death until the trusts made distributions. I would not have had a clue, but TT made it easy to go step-by-step entering the numbers.
What's great about it: Made it very easy to enter data from two Form K-1s.
What's not so great: none

Taxes made easy

I've been using turbo-tax for perhaps 10 years and have always been rather pleased with it. The current version is easy to move from the step-by-step version to the forms version, although it can be difficult, sometimes, to find the actual form. I like the step-by-step procedure except for charitable deductions which can be very time consuming since it asks too many questions about each charity. You only need this information (address of the charity and date of the contribution) if you gave non-cash but it asks for it anyway. Sometimes the directions tell you to put things in another category (for example - other miscellaneous deductions, like investment expenses) but I could not figure out how to do that in the step-by-step format. If you override anything in the step-by-step format by going to forms, it will not submit the return electronically so you can't do that, but it does not tell you that in advance.
Still, overall, it's a fine program which I've stayed with for perhaps 10 years. Overall, I like it.
What's great about it: Easy to use and navigate, convenient, good explanations, easy to move from step-by-step format to forms
What's not so great: entering charitable donations as a step-by-step procedure can be time-consuming.
