Excellent Product

I have been using TurboTax for the last ten years (desktop version only). It evolved and added more useful features every year; providing positive experience overall. I'm amazed at how it handles complex situations so easily. I never had to keep track of refi mortgage points deductions, donations carryover, capital loss carryover, depreciations etc. Software gives confidence/assurance to amateur users. I love Its Deductibe for keeping track of non-cash & cash donations. I highly recommend this product to anyone who has never done tax preparation themselves in their life.
What's great about it: easy installation; transfers last year returns; guides in step by step interview; provides planning for next tax year
What's not so great: Expensive compared to other tax preparation software
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

If all goes well with state and federal acceptance of the returns, the experience was great. I used Turbo Tax for the prior 2 years
What's great about it: simple and fast
What's not so great: lots of what appears to be unnecessary forms for printing

No Support for Form 1045

No support to handle NOL.
No automatic Form 1045 info carry across.
Calculating 2012 to 2013 Casualty NOL carry forward is confusing.

I HAVE BEEN USING TURBO TAX FOR A FEW YEARS NOW AND IT IS VERY EASY TO NAVIGATE THROUGH IT. MY DAUGHTER AND GRANDDAUGHTER HAVE BEEN USING TURBO TAX MUCH LONGER THAN MYSELF AND THEY ARE THE REASON I NOW USE YOUR PROGRAM. THANK YOU FOR HAVING SUCH A GREAT PRODUCT.
What's great about it: EASY TO USE
What's not so great: HAD TO UPDATE A FEW TIMES BEFORE IT TOOK.

Turbo Tax saves headaches

I have used Turbo Tax for years and my only issue is that I would like to get just a short and sweet e-mail when the 1040 individual updates are done/finished. I wait several weeks after I am done to file as I am not quite sure by all the updates that I am really good to go. Otherwise, what a time saver. Time left over to enjoy the outdoors.
What's great about it: You know exactly what you need
What's not so great: Keep getting updates

Turbotax filing experience

This year downloaded my investment 1099B information from Charles Schwab directly into TurboTax. The 1099B transaction information had "0.0" (zero) in line 14 (box 15 - State tax withheld) for every transaction. TurboTax said it could not e-file my Illinois state return because state withholding cannot appear on a 1099B form. The "0.0" was interpreted as a value and rejected the return. I changed all the occurrences of "0.0" to "blank" on the 1099B and everything went through fine. Either Charles Schwab or TurboTax needs to change their software.
What's great about it: Turbo tax worked very well, except for the problem described below

2013 Turbo Tax

My son, who filed taxes for his first time, had to pay bank fees to process his refund. I have been using Turbo Tax exclusively since 1998. I am disappointed at the bank fee and will, most likely, select an alternative tax program for 2014. I'm really upset at this extra fee for my son. This has never happened in all of my years using Turbo Tax. Incidentally, I never complained when Turbo Tax cost me an additional $10,000.00 in WV State Taxes for 2005-2008 because one of the employment questions about police retirement was not specific as to State.
What's not so great: Bank Fees
