Overall good; bugs in State

I have used TurboTax for many years. I appreciate the carryover info from prior tax years. Ability to go to a specific topic worked better than some previous versions.
Surprised at bugs in this year's version. As a long-time user, I'm accustomed to dealing with unusual tax questions that need extra research beyond the Step-by-Step, but not with bugs that I needed to find a work-around for.
What's great about it: Mostly good on Step-by-Step; had to use Forms sometimes to check that data was handled right
What's not so great: State had bugs in the Schedule B interest worksheet

Turbo Tax Extraordinaire!

I love this program after having used TaxCut for a number of years. However, I'm still looking for scenario planning to reduce the tax bite where possible. Also, if you file an amended return using a tax service, how to integrate that return before starting the next year's return.
What's great about it: Easy to use! Easy to follow-thru to filing!
What's not so great: Flexibility
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

charitable deduction expansion very helpful . . . but a return arrow would help to go between categories quicker.
What's great about it: expanded charitable deductions. good explanation of deductions
What's not so great: need to explain upfront that some deductions won't meet minimum threshold and the amount - so don't waste time

It's a great product that I have been using since the late 90's. It keeps up on the tax code and insures I pay what needs to be paid and I get back that which is owed to me. Allows me to get my refunds fast and delay my payments to the last moment. Helped me to amend some returns that needed adjustments after filing, which actually saved me money when I thought I'd have to pay more. Who knows what a paid preparer would have charged for that.
My finances are under control using Quicken & TurboTax
What's great about it: Easy to use, accurate. convenient, saves me time
What's not so great: Been telling me I owe recently, I'm not crazy about that.

2013 Great

I had skipped over one of my 1099's thinking I had the information on a statement. During review of my return an amount on Sch-D had no explanation on where it came from. I could not find instructions for Sch-D Line 13 any place. Got my answer from a friend instead of the program. That is when I LOOKED at the 1099-DIV connected to a withdrawal from a mutual fund.
What's great about it: User Friendly Program
What's not so great: Needed explaination on a Sch D line 13.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Overall I love turbotax. I just wish it would be easier to look at the forms as I go along. I forgot to enter something in part b and it took forever for me to figure it out.
What's great about it: easy to use
What's not so great: hard to get to forms
