Easy to do, happy to finish

Very easy to use, self-explanatory guidance timely and easy to follow. The review features are assuring and make it easy to continue the preparation. I will use Turbo Tax in the future. Thank you.
What's great about it: Very easy to use and automatic re-checks very assuring. Don't think any changes are needed.
What's not so great: Don't want the promotion of other products or future Turbo product.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Bad Experience

While my filing status had messages that no forms were available to complete the return, I received an email stating

Great Product

I have used TurboTax for the last 7 years and I would never use another tax prep. Turbo Tax has been wonderful and easy to use.
What's great about it: very easy
What's not so great: should install updates in beginning not end

Turbo Tax no so great this year

I have been using Turbo Tax to do my personal taxes for many years. My personal information including name, address, social security number and income were not automatically transferred from my completed federal return to my IL state return on the first try. Some of the values I was entering into the state return were not being used in the calculation of my final refund, i.e. funds spent on tuition/fees for my elementary school age children , even though two kids were listed as dependents in the federal and state forms, only one of them was being listed for the education credit. Good thing I caught it myself. I wonder what other mistakes have been made that I did not catch. I have my doubts about Turbo Tax this year.
What's great about it: convenient for the most part
What's not so great: There seemed to be some bugs in xferring my data from my federal to my state, IL, return.

Quick Work of Drudgery

Easy to work through easy to e-file. This is fourth year I have used Turbo Tax and it carries all my information from the previous year to speed things along.
What's great about it: step by step process moved me quickly through my return
What's not so great: In my K-1-p form, software could have been clearer how to fill out form.

First time user

Got a message saying that the software couldn't proceed because the government hadn't finalized something. Then when Turbo checked the government had finalized whatever. Would be better if the software automatically did this upon boot up to make it appear seamless.
Had trouble deleting form k-1, which I incorrectly selected, but eventually found how to delete via your forum. It would be better if this could be done as part of the check system rather than keep getting the same error message with no apparent way to fix.
What's great about it: Great that it has all the forms and walks you through everything
What's not so great: Didn't like that I had to pay extra for the VA state return. Hard to change error.

Simplified Tax Program

I have been using the Turbo Tax program for as long as I can remember to complete my taxes. I wouldn"t use any other program to do so. It is very user friendly; cost afforable; and provided many answers to questions regarding my taxes so that I didn't have to research otherwise.
The review process provides an analysis at a comfort level such that it ensures that you don't have to worry about the IRS auditing your tax return.
Also being able to efile is a major plus in using the Program.
What's great about it: Excellent to use and provides answers to many tax questions
What's not so great: Didn't find any issues in completing my return.

Brings structure into Chaos

Straight forward, Tax-Rookies will get a handle
What's great about it: Step by Step function impresses, looks like software is well prepped for eventualities
What's not so great: Help functions seem to be not as good as in past years. Live chat help would be great
