I love turbo tax. It has helped me do my taxes for a long time. It is easy for me to use. It gives help if you need it. It keeps you up to date with tax laws. It's great!
What's great about it: It leads you through what you need to report.
What's not so great: You have to be ready to do your taxes when you begin

Turbo Tax is still #1

I've been using TT for at least 16 years now. It has always worked for me, and to the best of my knowledge has always walked me through the right set of questions so that I feel I've always gotten the best return, even a time or two when I had to pay. Keep it up.

my refund

I have used Turbotax for many years and it has always been accurate with a few minor mistakes I made. One year my son use my copy to check out his return and went to an agent with his wife. His wife finally paid the IRS the money that she owed because she did not listen to me and use the tt return....
What's great about it: nice workflow
What's not so great: It does not read my mind
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Primary difficulty that I experienced was knowing what information was accurate to report info about wife's HSA account. I.E. I did not know if she had a qualifying high deductable insurance plan, nor did I know how the account was handled each month, or if line (12) on W-2 was exclusively the ampount of employee contriubution, employer contribution, or a combined amount. I got through it by clicking onto the HELP and More Info buttons provided by TurboTax, but getting this part of the HSA portion of the forms was confusing and created a lot of uncertainty.
What's great about it: Transfer of previous tax records onto current year's forms
What's not so great: Had trouble understanding terms and how to fill out right info for Health Savings Account

A great refund!

I am delighted with my refund this year. I appreciated Turbo Tax retrieving my personal information from last year's return. That saved me time. The program was very easy to use...very friendly. However, I think more written guidelines are needed specificly to help/assist retired people. I plan on using Turbo Tax again next year. Thanks!
What's great about it: Turbo Tax.....very easy to use,,,peeseakake!
What's not so great: Better definitions of what is deductible...esp. for retired people.

Have some real people answering phones to help filers out. Have the filers print out the return before filing, not after. They want to have a copy in their hands to look at before pressing the Send button.
What's great about it: Very systematic. Many things have been thought out ahead for filers.
What's not so great: Filers get stuck and they can't get through the filing. Read the questions
