COULD NOT FILE ELECTRONICALLY FOR ALABAMA

PAID TO HAVE ALABAMA TAX ELECTRONICALLY FILED--DIDNT WORK BUT PAID FOR IT ALREADY--SO HOW DO I GET A REFUND?? IT KEPT SAYING TO CHECK FOR UPDATES AS FORMS WERE UPDATED. DID THE UPDATE CHECK AND WAS ADVISED NO UPDATES. WAS IN A" DO-LOOP." THEN IT WOULDN'T LET ME PRINT THE SF 2106. IT STATED THE SAME THING ( THAT THERE WAS AN UPDATE) CHECKED AND THERE WAS NO UPDATE. FINALLY I GOOGLED IT AND THERE WAS A MAKE SHIFT WORK AROUND ON HOW TO PRINT THE FORM--HAD TO OVER RIDE AND INSERT INCORRECT NUMBERS IN ATTACHMENT A AND THEN IT FINALLY PRINTED. HAD TO THEN CORRECT OVER RIDE SO IT WOULD BE A CORRECT RETURN.
What's not so great: HAD TO WORK GO ROUND TO GET SF 2106 TO PRINT

Too much scrolling

The summary of current progress in between major sections is very nice, but you should automatically scroll down to the bottom of the page, so the user can just select "Done with xyz section" more easily.
What's great about it: Summaries between sections
What's not so great: Needs auto scrolling

I had more trouble this year....probably use a preparer next year.
What's great about it: guide through each step
What's not so great: confuses pensions with IRAs; difficulty dealing with sales tax deduction

Great software!

For the most part Turbo Tax is an excellent way to complete and file your taxes. I just had some issues with having to slog through paragraph after paragraph to get a simple answer about my son's social security income. As many people who are on SSDI also receive benefits for their dependent children it would have been nice to have it spelled out where you input the amounts that I didn't have to claim my son's income. I made the mistake of claiming it last year because I didn't take the time to read further.
What's great about it: Easy to use. Maximized my refund
What's not so great: Some areas a little unclear. Required a lot of reading
