the delux should include 1099 barter as standard without needing to upgrade to premier

Speedy

Retrieving boilerplate info from last year really speeds up the process. I thought I had e-filed, then checked back and found that I hadn't. Need to have a big, bold notice on the menu bar showing the filing status.
What's great about it: Speeds up, simplifies filing.
What's not so great: Sometimes cumbersome to get to a specific item or form

Makes doing taxes less of a hassle.

All the input requirements were understandable and flowed in a logical manner (as much as possible with the IRS forms). TT makes doing taxes tolerable. As a Con, during the review process, TT thought I needed/wanted to income average my farm. To get around the impasse with TT, I delete form J from the forms selections.
What's great about it: Easy to follow instructions as well as being able to change by section.
What's not so great: Form J wasn't needed
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Makes life simple

As a retired CPA, I can vouch that turbo tax will work easily and swiftly for 90% of individual returns. The real time saver is the ability of turbo tax to transfer data from the prior year's return, and to download data from brokerage and bank accounts

TurboTax calms the turbulence at tax time

Turbo Tax has saved my sanity at tax time for many years. The current version is streamlined, very easy to navigate, led me through both the Federal and State returns in clear, easy steps. Importing basic data from last year's return saves time. Importing data from financial institutions saved me a TON of work and confusion. Turbo Tax knows just where to put the data, so I don't have to figure that out. The deduction finder is a good feature, for those who itemize. Having all the documentation available to print or save as pdf is great. The free e-filing of the federal return is a good benefit.
What's great about it: clear easy steps, import data, print/efile, finds deductions
What's not so great: cost to e-file state return

Easy to use for most things. The unusual situation where there are investments outside of the country require more digging on the part of the preparer to ensure that the tax laws are being followed.
I know that Congress does not always get their act together in time for the tax laws so that the software can be written and verified prior to Jan 1st but it is disconcerting when the final review is being done and the software tells you need another update to the program.
What's great about it: Easy to use.
What's not so great: Multiple updates after Jan 1st.
