Some of the forms are TOO detailed for the information that needs to be provided to the IRS.
Program is trying to be all things to all user and gets confusing.

What's great about it: All forms and worksheets are included. Handling of different income is easy.
What's not so great: Too many categories where not applicable. Should have an interview to determine which forms need to be filled out.

Well Assembled Product

Having filed annual tax returns for over 30 years now in two different countries, I have found using Turbo tax to be straight forward and well guided. Previous to Turbo tax, I had always filed my taxes on my own utilizing the appropriate taxation forms. Even though I was always very thorough and precise, Turbo tax found deductions that I was not aware of on a couple of occasions thus increasing my return. I have used this product for the past 4 years and will continue to do so in the future.

I have used Turbo Tax many years and very happy with it.
2013 Deluxe Turbo Tax, I had a difficult time especially with 1099-B filing. Perhaps, 2013 was the first time, I had to file 1099-B.

Awesome refund!

This is my sixth year using Turbo Tax and I have never had a problem with the IRS. I only wish the the state efiling cost was included in the charge.
What's great about it: Great manuever for anyone whose not a CPA
What's not so great: For the amount you pay, the state should be free.

I would have like to "reload" the previous years tax file. Had a small change in the file and couldn't reload it. Had to start the 2013 over and reload the change.
What's great about it: Simplifies standard items

The first section went well, but when I went back to change my donations information, I was hit with a bunch of information about joint property and joint filing. It caused a great bunch of turmoil, and I am concerned now that my return may be affected by my soon to be ex-husband.
What's great about it: Fairly fast, and I can do it in my pajamas
What's not so great: Questions about married filing jointly with a spouse who doesn't live here.

I've been using Turbo Tax for a very long time. I had used others in between times and I always go back to Turbo Tax because to me it's the best tax software and dependable and easy to use.
What's great about it: Easy to follow through
What's not so great: no cons
