TurboTax Did It Again

TurboTax is not totally user friendly, for me at least. I didn't do my taxes in one day. Hard to figure out how to get out of TurboTax to work on the taxes at a later date. Example of Cons: I'm trying to submit my review but TurboTax keeps asking me to preview my review. I've done that and I still get "preview my review" again and again with error messages about my nickname. How does one submit a review after previewing the review? Example of an Error Message: We're sorry but we encountered the following issue(s): Your nickname has already been taken by another reviewer.
Please choose a different one. I only have one nickname folks! I've dreamed up some but still get the same error message.

What's great about it: TurboTax was very helpful.
What's not so great: TurboTax can be, at times, confusing and not very user friendly. But, your "Help" did help, at times.

Outstanding program

Turbotax walks me through the process and gives advice for the upcoming year. Coupling with ItsDeductible helps make my tax return complete. It was more accurate than H&R Block which made mistakes 2 years in a row.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: nothing
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Tax free dividends

I have Aquila Tax Free Fund of Utah. Turbo never accepted the tax exempt entry correctly. It wanted to tax the exempt interest. You need to check on this. Why bother with a tax free fund if it isn't tax free?

Could not contact a agent with questions, only a FAQ that didn't come close to answering the question. When it imported my 1099-div it didn't bring all of the information it needed to complete my taxes.
What's great about it: It worked well in spots, save time and checked for errors.

Glad I didn't switch!

I've been using TurboTax since 1994! It has proven to be very accurate and reliable. The interface has continuously improved every year. I think I has difficulty with a version a couple years ago where some of the prompted questions were difficult to answer. I would love for TurboTax to have a "more information" on "every" question for those situations. Because of financial reasons this year, I almost switched tax software. After completing my taxes with this other software (that ranked in the top 3) not only did not know what do with a W2 form entry but I ended up owing. I couldn't find where my property tax entree went to and why it wasn't being calculated. I panicked and bought my TurboTax! I'm glad I didn't switch this year! Thank you TurboTax for my refund!!!
