So EASY to use!

I have used this system for over 12 years. I help friends with their taxes. So easy with direct deposit.
What's great about it: It does the Math for you!
What's not so great: Can't think of any
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

need give more then 5 e-file transmission. 7 is better then 5 e-file

Throwing out frustration!

I think TurboTax is a great tool and will use it every year. I wish I would have used it years before I started using it. It makes doing taxes easier and more stress free than doing them on my own. I refer TurboTax to anyone that is talking about taxes with me.
What's great about it: Guiding me through everything.
What's not so great: If there are errors back several screens, hard to get to where the fix is needed and then getting back to the check.

Updating Turbo Tax for e-file on a Mac

I tried to e-file, and got an error message that I must update Turbo Tax to the latest version. Why isn't last week's version good enough for filing? If I filed last week, that is what I would have used anyway. But I had no choice, so I updated both federal and state versions. I tried to e-file again, and got the same error message - I must update. Of course, when I clicked on update, there was no new version since I had just done so. I saw that many people had the same problem, and reached tech support by phone. The solution was simple: reboot my Mac, so that the Mac knows that I have the latest version. Please, Turbo Tax people: allow all of us to e-file with older versions!
What's great about it: It eventually works
What's not so great: I needed tech advice to make it work

"17_Emily B" was the best expert and online support. Not only did I have a great conversation with a REAL person, but she was able to explain things to me in a way that consumers can understand.
What's great about it: I got a great tax return!

Terrible time with TT

This experience with Turbo Tax was so frustrating I will probably pay the extra money and have my taxes done professionally next year. I was lucky to have my son here to help me with all my updating problems. Plus I didn't realize when the updates were ready because I did not get an email as stated and the program was showing they were not available even when they were! So frustrated I wanted to scream. As for adding a picture because it speaks a thousand words... the picture I would like to send is not appropriate. I did notice on the help pages that many were having problems I hope that will motivate TT to fix the problems for next year.
What's great about it: Transferred my info from last year
What's not so great: Could not file!!!!
