Disappointed in TurboTax.

I went through the entire process of completing my federal return and then had to do it all over again for me and my wife, because TurboTax did not ask me one simple question. My wife lived 50% in one state and 50% in another, while I lived 100% in only one state. If this is the case, you cannot file a married filing jointly return for federal. You have to file married filing separately. TurboTax did not tell me this until I had completely finished my federal return. Only when I started my state return was I informed. So, I had to go back and do my federal return again and one for my wife, and then move onto the state returns. TurboTax should ask you that up front on the federal return if either of you lived part time in another state, and then inform you if you have to file separately.
What's great about it: The entries were easy to complete and searched for all solutions.
What's not so great: Completely redo my federal return because Turbotax did not ask me a simple question from the beginniing.

Love TurboTax

I've been using Turbo Tax for the last 3 years, and I know I will always get my best refund, because Turbo Tax walks me through all categories without having to guess where something should go. LOVE TURBO TAX!

Better Than Last Year

Last year Turbotax didn't have the disability retirement option I needed and counted my retirement income as earned income with a W-2; twice. I was on the phone with your reps for hours trying to sort it out, and anything is better than that was.
What's great about it: Nice pop-up explainations
What's not so great: Sometimes Ambiguous

Ii have been using Turbo Tax for several years now, and am very happy with the process. Walks you through step by step. Very difficult to make a mistake.

Owed, but painless

My 3rd year of using TurboTax. I am glad they got the problems with loading onto Windows 7 machines figured out.
What's great about it: Very easy to enter items.
What's not so great: Having to continue thru a plethora of extra menu items when you've only changed one thing.

When I have time

I have file with Turbo Tax for years. I like that I get to do it at my own pace, when I have time. I don't need to make an appointment with someone and waste half a day sitting in an office answering questions until my head wants to explode.
I also like that I can take the amount owed for the program out of my refund. So, there is no budgeting and waiting for pay day.
What's great about it: It's convieniant. Especially if you have a crazy work schedule.
What's not so great: It takes a bit of time. But, that's usual for taxes.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Turbo Tax 2013

I love Turbo Tax. I have been using Turbo Tax since 1994. It has always been very easy and given me a max refund. Twice I have tried other tax software and was left frustrated and with a much lower refund. I keep coming back to Turbo Tax because it is the best.
What's great about it: Quick step by step walk through/Max refund
What's not so great: No cons that I can think of
