Been using Turbo Tax since 1998.
prefills forms with basic data

Would not use anything else.

I love it. It's easy and simple and ask all the questions and this year was a lot easier that it has been in the past.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

My goto tax software

I've used Turbo Tax to do my taxes for at least 10 years. I always feel confident I have obtained the best refund possible. The walk through process is clear and often suggests deductions I didn't think of. I have had my taxes prepared by CPAs and tax professionals and I don't think they did as good a job as I do by myself with Turbo Tax.
The one drawback I found was that this year it was hard to find the area on the website to download the software. I eventually found it with help from my daughter but it was a frustrating experience. Since I expect this is what most people want to do, it would be helpful to make the link more explicit.

What's great about it: simple, clear, reliable
What's not so great: website has gotten harder to navigate

Electronic filing notification

Previous versions were not as clear if both state and federal returns were electronically submitted. It was very difficult to have that comfortably feeling that both returns were filed. One year I had to wait until I received the direct deposit refund to know that everything was completed.
What's great about it: Clearly indicates that both Federal and State returns were electronically filed

If this is how e-filing works, I'll go back to doing it myself...
What's great about it: somewhat faster
What's not so great: surprise fees at the end......I already bought the software, that should have been the last expense

Nice New Enhancements

I've been a user since about 2004 and each year the improvements are stellar. If you know what you're looking for - you can go right there. If you're unsure, Turbo Tax will step you through each step to you are SURE you've made the right choice. Nearly Idiot Proof!
What's great about it: Loved that my employeer W2 data was available on line. Clear descriptions of each item too. Better each year!
What's not so great: Can't think of any!
