Transfer of information to State form

Wife earns her income in MN she needs to pay Minnesota state taxes.
Turbo tax does a poor job of recognizing that one.
This is the third year in a row that i have had problems with reciprocity and Turbo Tax.
Us border jumpers need good software.
What's not so great: Did not seperated wifes income from mine

Easiest year yet, thanks to Tubo Tax

Quick and Easy

I have been using Quicken and TurboTax for about ten years or more. The continuity of information and importing of information from prior years is very convenient. Continuous records of IRA data is a big benefit as is the ability to generate pdf format files of returns for storage and reference. I've been very satisfied with the accuracy of the returns. Walking through each step in detail has uncovered deductions I would likely have missed on my own. I don't believe my tax situation is complex enough to justify the cost of a tax consultant or accountant to prepare my taxes. TurboTax is an inexpensive, complete way of helping me file my own returns.
What's great about it: Easy to navigate, available details and help on specific questions. Easy filing. Generates pdf for records.
What's not so great: State tax information is occasionally ambiquous or unclear.

Peace of Mind Taxes

In general, this is a great program - easy to follow and flexible enough for tax-savy persons to use.
I have one problem with this program - estimated tax payments for next year showed only next January with a payment due. To meet my payments due, I would need all 4 payments.
Also, Schedule B: is it necessary to display a financial co./fund that has no taxable dividends? The fund had tax-exempt dividends only, but it shows on Schedule B with "0" in the "amount" column.

What's great about it: Step-by-step process and the ability to switch between forms and step-by-step process.
What's not so great: Municipal bond processing is still cumbersome, but better than not seeing what's going on your forms.

Honestly, you ought to be up front with the costs of e-filing. Why in the world would only the federal be free and not the state. Everyone has to file for at least one state. It's just as well toe efile the state refund myself without the additional costs.
Secondly, it'd be nice to offer an automatic removal of older versions of TurboTax. Kind of a pain to have to go back and uninstall old versions.
