REPORTING THE SELLING AND BUYING A HOME BOTH IN THE SAME YEAR WERE EASIER THAN I FIRST FEARED. I WRONGLY DRAGGED MY FEET WITH OUR RETURN BECAUSE I FEARED WE WERE GOING TO PAY THE IRS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN OVER TWENTY YEARS.
What's great about it: WALKED ME THRU THREE DIFFICULT ONCE IN A LIFETIME EXPERIENCES
What's not so great: ERROR RESULTS NEED TO BE MORE ASSOCIATIVE TO RETURN EDITING

Takes all the stress out of doing your taxes. Easy process that gave me great confidence; not only was I getting the maximum refund, but more importantly my tax returns were accurate. I've trusted TurboTax for 8 years and will continue to do so.

This was a tax return for an individual who died in 2013. It was not unanticipated, and financial records, estate, etc. were in good order. Since this is an out-of-the-ordinary situation, I found the prompts/instructions a bit difficult to interpret. However, having used Turbo Tax for years, I realize this is due to this being an "exception" rather than the routine return. Ultimately, I was able to work through the program and filed with the confidence that the information is correct and that the return should be processed by IRS/Michigan with no problems anticipated.
What's great about it: Generally good flow, prompts, and basic information
What's not so great: A bit hard to find detail on unusual situations/circumstances

2013 Tax Returns

Improvements could be made in the area of Canadian RRIP income. and Foreign taxes paid . I had to fill some areas in manually. It could be a problem if I had not been filing this type of forms for several years. All the other areas were easy to use.

Effortless

I have used TurboTax for almost a decade, every year to do my tax. I really enjoyed the experience and simplicity it takes to do my taxes. Thank you Turbo Tax! :)

Pretty Easy

Love to be able to import last years taxes and also import from Finance institutes to save time. I use Deluxe but I occasionally have a stock sale or options to report and wish Turbo Tax wouldn't push to upgrade - they are simple sells and simple accounting so I don't need the upgrade to report a single simple sell.
For the most part, the reporting and filing are simple enough and then you e-file and are done!

What's great about it: Step by Step or choose what you want to work on
What's not so great: Some parts confusing - perhaps more because of law wording than Turbo Tax?
