NEATLY ARRANGED OUR NUMBERS!

EVERY YEAR IT GETS EASIER. TURBO TAX GUIDED ME RIGHT THROUGH MY TAX REFUND. I LIKE HOW I CAN MOVE AHEAD AND CHECK THINGS OUT, BUT GO BACK IF THAT IS NOT WHERE I WANT TO BE. I HAVE TO KEEP REMINDING MYSELF THAT IT IS DOING THE THINKING FOR ME. IF I THINK TOO MUCH THEN I GET CONFUSED. I TYPE IN INFORMATION AS IT ASKS FOR IT, AND THEN IT REARRANGES IT AND PUTS THE NUMBERS IN THE CORRECT SPACES.
What's great about it: I LIKED HOW IT TALKS RIGHT TO ME.

After doing updates, T.T. says it is going to restart. It goes away, but doesn't restart. You have to manually start it yourself.
What's not so great: T.T. does not restart after doing updates.

TurboTax file of Taxes

The Review before filing had some items that needed to be corrected, but it was not clear what needed corrected. When printing out a preview printout of forms I got 75 pages, many of them totally blank. When I printed out the "--forms for filing" I got the same thing. I thought there was s drive to save trees and cut down on paper.
I have been using TurboTax for many years. I find it easy to use and am very satisfied overall. This year is was easier to jump back to a previous section to correct or add an entry omitted.
What's great about it: Generally easy-to-follow questions
What's not so great: "Review" items not always clear as to what is needed. Too many fornms print out for my filing.

Answer the questions and let TurboTax put all the numbers in the right places on the tax form. And there's helpful guidance right there if there are questions you don't know how to respond to.
What's great about it: Easy, quick, no stress.

Less struggle

It's nice to have a program that translates all the baloney-language of the IRS into real-life terms that make sense, and then distributes those figures into the proper places on 1040 (I hope). It's really a bummer that I have NEVER been able to get Turbo Tax to interface with our investment company to allow smooth transfer of all that fussy, picky data. (For example, US Govt Obligations portions of investment income - it's tedious to do all the research and calculations to come up with the right numbers when IF IT WOULD JUST IMPORT PROPERLY it would happen by instantaneous internet magic.) This year it also refused to recognize my last year's return in my computer's files - a lesser bummer, but still... However, my husband used to dread the 3 or 4 days that I would tear out my hair trying to figure out what the crazy 1040 was trying to say and how to appease it properly. Now it's pretty much one day's work. --So how is it that Germany and New Zealand (to name two I KNOW about) have a simple, 2-page form that any normal human being can fill out and be done with their taxes? Where do we sign up for that?
What's great about it: Turbo Tax has turned the Annual April Ordeal from a 3-4 day slog into a 7 hour march.
What's not so great: I have never been able to import data from our investment company - bummer.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Great Program

Turbo Tax is an excellent tax prep program. As a retired Tax Professional with 16 years experience with a well know national tax prep firm, this is an easy to use program for lay people with little knowledge of tax law.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Easy to use and file

Easy and generally simple to file your taxes if you itemize. Deductions and credits easy to determine. Also was able to use download function from a financial institution that would have taken me a long time to enter. Recommend the product highly.
What's great about it: Easy to follow interview and entering of information. Checking for errors or questions.
What's not so great: K1 instructions could heve been easier to follow.
