Feel that voice help should be available for free.
Easy to enter information.
So many updates that it is hard to feel confident that your return is going to be accepted.
Buy it every year and really like it.
Overall a very easy to use good program.
Keep trying to make it more detailed and as easy as possible please. Thanks!
What's great about it: Easy to work with.
What's not so great: Hard to go back to Easy Start

Very good tool

I've always liked TurboTax and will continue to use it. It is relatively easy to use, gets most deductions, provides thoughtful help, and is cost-effective. The 'free' on line version is a drag since it misses a lot of good deductions. I bought the Deluxe version and it met all of my needs.
What's great about it: Good interactive interface
What's not so great: Some deductions (like home office) were hard to find
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

State e-file should be free too!

I have used Turbo Tax for quite a few years. I like the easy to follow format and the ability to switch to see the actual forms. I do not like having to pay to e-file my state return.
What's great about it: Easy to follow format
What's not so great: State e-file is not free
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Had some issues this year

I've been using TurboTax for 11 years and usually everything goes very smoothly. This year, my tax info from my 2012 return did not transfer into my 2013 return, so a lot more data entry was required (not sure why this happened). Also, TurboTax was insisting that I needed to file an Illinois return (an extra state) when it really wasn't necessary. There were not enough questions asked/information provided about this IL return. After researching it myself and reading the instructions for the Illinois NR 1040 form, it was VERY clear that I didn't need to do an IL return. The TurboTax program should've been able to figure this out & tell me that without me having to spend a few hours of my own time!
What's great about it: Walks you through everything nicely. Love It's Deductible.
What's not so great: Didn't transfer in past info. Told me I needed to file an IL return when I didn't need to!

less taxing

I had unemployment income and job search expenses that were new to me this year. With TT deluxe, I was able to find the documents needed to input the info and kept my taxes low even though I did not deduct taxes from the unemployment benefits. Job search expense info was somewhat weak, however if treated as a business expense the guide helped a lot. I also had an annuity loss, and after extensive internet research determined that a specific investment loss form was needed. i couldn't find it in forms, but when I tried to enter the loss amount on the 1040 line, it automatically popped up, and I copied the amounts entered on a form I had downloaded from the IRS. Possiibly the premiere version would have had more info, but spending much of the year unemployed, it was not affordable. I was also able to calculate the ACA penalty for my son with the new ACA interface, although I hope the ACA effort (totally unrelated to taxes, except for the increased taxation) did not increase costs for Turbo Tax. If there is extra expense, please have it as an extra cost module and don't penalize us any more than it already has.
What's great about it: imported info, handled several situations I was less familiar with, overall tax information gathering fairly complete
What's not so great: I needed a particular form (for showing annuity loss), and could not find it in the "Forms' section.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

I have used turbotax for many years and I have been pleased with it except for the "con" listed above.
Also the audit defense is top-notch, as we found out last year.
What's great about it: Cleared up problem over the phone, very patient
What's not so great: Never found last years file, had to reenter everything
