I'm a 10+ year TT customer. It's absolutely fantastic software that I recommend to anyone - novice or pro - who wants to understand their taxes and also create a return that delivers the most refund possible.
What's great about it: The entire TT experience
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Taxes Made Less Painful
on March 7, 2014

Turbo Tax has gotten better and easier to use over the years. I used to dread doing taxes, but don't mind as much now. I can usually finish with Turbo Tax in 3 hours (and that's because I go slowly and double check things along the way). It helps to use the product year after year since it transfers the previous year's data saving a lot of time. The fact that it can now download data from a growing number of financial institutions directly to minimize typing in form after form is another plus.
What's great about it: Easy to use, quick
What's not so great: A few tax topics can be slightly confusing
Pros: I bought or sold investments

1099-MISC entry does not accommodate enough variations, assumes self-employment and launches into Business related entries. In my case of reimbursements to retiree from former employer for various annual expenses are made; Healthcare Education and Training, Financial Planning, Long Term Care Insurance Payments, etc. Why not at least offer an 'Other' category including a 'Description' entry field?
When Printing the Vermont State Tax Return, there should be an intentional BLANK PAGE after the Instructions sheet so that the following forms print more properly in DUPLEX MODE.
What's great about it: Prompts and guidance make filing quick and easy.
What's not so great: A few rough edges.

I do and will continue to recommend TurboTax to all my friends and family. I have used TurboTax for 10 years and don't plan on changing. Online support was good when I needed it as well.
What's great about it: The step by step walk thru of each category is outstanding.
What's not so great: None.
