Wasting time with NYS/Local pension Deduction

I don't take any deductions I just buy it to make it neater and easier, less time consuming. This time it took me an hour to figure out how to exempt my NYS /local govt pension from state tax. I had to search the internet and then go to the "form" and make a change.
Waste of money this year.

Making a dreaded ordeal more bearable

Overall the program and presentation of the task is excellent.
I was surprised to find out that although i had a Turbo Tax account from last year I couldn't be identified when I purchased a disc this year and had to start from scratch. Live and learn. I will be looking into the Mint opportunity to make my life a little less hectic next year.

The continuous checks and with positive and negative estimates of results is comforting so as not to have a surprise at the end, throughout.
What's great about it: The title says it all. Makes a dreaded ordeal more bearable.
What's not so great: Made the mistake of buying a disc rather than doing in on line as I did last year. More work involved

Quick, easy, and painless.

I liked how easy it was to pull data from the prior year and to fill out rest of the data. Questions asked were clear and comforting because they seemed complete and thorough.
What's great about it: One federal and twp state returns in a matter of hours.
What's not so great: e-filing of states a little pricy.

Positive Experience

I've been using Turbo Tax for my taxes since 2006 and have always found the process to be straight forward and efficient. This years version continues to make the filing process as simple and as straight forward as previous versions.
For the last few years I've filed electronically and would have this year but for the possibility of someone highjacking my refund if I followed electronically. If there are safeguards against this using your product it would be helpful to know that in advance.
What's great about it: Easy to follow step by step working through the process.
What's not so great: Some of the explanations were not entirely clear.

To Do or Not To Do

Overall program seemed pretty good. I can't believe the refund I'll be getting. Had another preparer do my taxes and they charged me big time. It will be interesting to see how smoothly everything goes upon filing my return.
What's not so great: Took me all day as this was lst time doing my taxes online

Excellent Program

My brother convinced me to use this program and I am certainly glad I did. I am a young 72 yr old woman, very active and young thinking, so I found it to be so quick and easy.
What's great about it: Very easy to work. Found it trust-worthy and accurate.

Not your best version

Not your best version, I have used TurboTax for the Mac since 1989 and wouldn't use anything else. However, there was too much info left in the background. Last years was very good, but this year I wanted to go back and review my answers but it seemed, especially near the end, that once I answered the question it skipped past them or I had to start over completely.
What's great about it: Turbo Tax is still easy and accurate
What's not so great: I didn't like not being able to go back thru the questions again,
