Turbo Tax Review

I have been using TurboTax for over 15 years. I like the convenience of being able to access previous tax years with a click of my mouse. I like how I can compare previous tax year to current tax year.
What's great about it: Previous returns are readily available.

I learned a lot about income and deductions which was very complete. The Get Help section was very educational when I needed further in depth understanding. The format of Turbotax is factual, quick, and easy to follow. It asks the right questions in the right sequence and gives a timely response.
The format allows you to build a tax filing, pause, take a break, and come back to where you left off without loss of data. I am a long tern user of Turbotax as a result.

I have used Turbo Tax for many years now and will continue to do so as long as they keep up the quality product that they have. Takes some of the stress out of tax time.
What's great about it: Works great, has the answers, and let's you do your taxes in one place.

Easy to follow instructions almost make filing your taxes a pleasure. If there is an easier, less expensive way to do it I haven't found it yet!
What's great about it: Easy to follow, step by step instructions make this the best way to file your taxes!
What's not so great: None as far as I'm concerned!

Turbo Tax is okay

If I have to file taxes, TT is a good way to do it. A bit verbose at times, but good at directing me where I need to be.
What's great about it: Easy enough to follow
What's not so great: too verbose, too many questions to get to where I know I know I should be

In the end, it messed up the refund deposit

The program makes doing taxes simple and it takes all the guessing out of the preparation. However, in the end there should be a window with filing options E file both, or either e file Federal and mail state or vise versa. At first, the program suggest e file both or Fed first and State later. At that point or before there should be options given to E file Fed and mail state or mail Fed and E file State or mail both. As a result of the current program, at the e file section, there was no guidance on State mailing so I printed the return, Unknown and unfortunately my account information for direct deposit was not on the State return. I mailed it and it appears I'm going to get a debit card. Suggest you revise the program prior to the E file section and add a window with submission options up front for Fed/State/local Govt. filings and guidance on subsequent screens.
What's great about it: Fairly simple to do the return
What's not so great: Confusing at end Efile vs Mail

What's great about it: i feel confident that my tax returns have been prepared properly, with all the bases covered.
What's not so great: state return - i thought i got one state filing free, but i had to pay.

better than an accountant

we were paying a huge fee to an accountant to do our taxes. I was doing all the leg work. turbo taxes allows me to save money and have confidence that tax info up to date & reliable
